The saddest thing I have ever read. Also the thing that made me cry even more than I cried when I watched the final episode of Gravity Falls. And I cried five times watching that. Plus I tear up every time I think about either one.

Sans hadn't had the chance to properly process his feelings, or his thoughts about those feelings and their potential repercussions. Not really. Not with everything that had been going on.
And then, almost on accident, Sans asks Red if there's anything he needs to get off his chest.
Turns out, there was.A continuation of "Serif One" and this would make a lot more sense if you at least read that main story.
