Summary
Mike and Micky have many things in common, even if it doesn't always seem like it. One of these things is Texas.
It's what they call, "Meaningful coincidences," Peter says, "Synchronicity, as Jung would call it. It’s Karma. These coincidences are guiding you, Michael. The universe is saying you’re on the right path. Think of how astronomical it is, to be in a band with men you’d never met, and to share a birthday with one and such strong familial ties to Texas with another.”
No one but Peter buys into 'synchronicity', but over the course of a tour, it gets easier to believe.

Summary
Every night, after the children are asleep, Michael sees the soft glow of the kitchen light where Peter waits - a moment to talk, to laugh, to remember. But when an illness forces Peter to slow down, Michael finds himself keeping the kitchen light on for him, holding space in the same way Peter always has. A tender story of love that lingers in the smallest gestures.

Summary
Sequel to The Door Is Always Open. Peter and Mike are remembering the early days of the Monkees and how they got to where they are. Because it used to be so different.
In 1965 and 1966, four young performers’ lives changed forever after being cast in The Monkees. All four of them were thrown together, but in the early days, it was mainly Peter and Mike, the newcomers to the L.A. scene vs. Davy and Micky, the seasoned professionals. When Mike invites Peter to live with him for the shooting of the pilot and the early days after, they form a bond that will eventually cross lines they can’t come back from as they embark on a journey into immediate, dizzying stardom and all the highs and lows that go with it. This is a fictionalized telling of the story of the Monkees through the eyes of two of its most contentious and difficult members: Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith.
