More like his third, fourth chance. What was he thinking, wishing for more? That wasn’t in the cards for him any longer. His friend right in front of him needed this. That had to be enough.
As he put on a brave face, gave his last goodbye, and felt himself drift into the Light, it was strange that it didn’t feel like enough, like peace and rest. All he felt instead was regret.
