Thoma has been back in his native nation for a week now, shaking off the residue of the eight years of separation. He visited all his old friends and even brought them small gifts. Except for one... Diluc, who exchanged glances with him for only a couple of minutes in Angel’s Share.
Thoma turns around in fright as his reaction is too painful to watch. Diluc barely stays on his feet and leans against the table with a shaking arm. And Thoma doesn’t think to rush him, to persecute his soul. He owes him nothing. It is Thoma who ran away, who abandoned everyone.
Stepping onto the familiar grounds, Thoma is washed over by a wave of something akin to failure. His fingers brush against the peeling, once-green paint of the old house, and he realizes with a jolt that he still needs more time, far more than he imagined.

Though Alhaitham felt a little under pressure at being watched like that, he promptly put the pitcher under the steam wand and circled it around a little bit so the milk could warm up evenly. When it was good enough, he pulled the pitcher down, just so that the tip of the wand would remain in the milk. Adjusting the pitcher according to the sound the wand made submerged in the milk, Alhaitham steamed it. Upon the right temperature, he unceremoniously poured the milk into the cup. Ignoring Kaveh's shriek, he brought it to the customer's table.
"You!!! How could you!! That was perfectly glossy steamed milk, how could you just pour it like that?!" He roared once Alhaitham returned, unleashing his fury upon the other.
"I told you I can't do latte art" Alhaitham simply shrugged at it, deeming it not his problem, and turned back to the work ahead of him.

And even as all this happens, Sharzad herself has issues to deal with. Between increasing preparations for her ascension to Queen, her powers have become unstable, changing and merging with her very being in a way they hadn't for two years. Zhongli told her removing the blocks on her powers would help her get stronger, but she wasn't anticipating so many changes so fast (her fathers might kill her when they learn about the dreams).
But Nabu Malikata once was an Angel and Amun once was a King, and Sharzad?
