“God, man. His fucking pupils,” Jack said. He leaned in closer to get a better view of his pupils swallowing up the irises of his eyes.“I know. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think he was on something.” Robby grabbed Dennis’ jaw with one hand and slipped the other back down his underwear. “But he’s just being a really good boy, isn’t he?” He used the hand on his jaw to make Dennis nod his head.

Dr Robby can't stand the breakroom coffee swill anymore. He didn't care if that made McKay call him 'bougie' (which meant something other than an intubation bougie, he was now learning).
Dana usually supported his caffeine habit with a steady supply of superior coffee. But now that she was on a well-deserved break from the Pitt, he has to make the arduous journey to the staff cafeteria himself.

Robby is leaving the past behind him. His time in Pittsburgh is (hopefully briefly) coming to an end. Using his well deserved time off, he's decided to spend the summer helping his niece run her practice while her co-physician is out of the country "finding himself." Dennis has lived in a small town his whole life. It's all he's ever known, and right now, it's all he's got. Running the family farm mostly by himself after his father's arthritis diagnosis has caused more than a fair share of accidents, but he's not worried. After all, there's a new doctor in town.

Voice stuttering as his eyes clench and brows furrow. It hurts, he’s desperate, but it’s his last day on the ER rotation and his mind switches to a halt when his mind pitches the image of Doctor Robby’s thick arms and big hands and God damn it.
Dennis shutters, quickly whimpering out the rest of his daily prayer before tears leak and his head collapses on the bed. If God is here, they exist and and and…his breath startles as he pictures the crinkle in Robbys eyes.

Whitaker's hookup profile reads like a contract. It's impersonal by design, transactional to the point of sterility. The photos tell a different story—there's something vulnerable hiding beneath the professional lighting and careful shadows. Robby should close the app. He doesn't. Dennis’ knee vibrates his backpack that rests against his shins in the dirty pick-up truck, Michael's warm and large hand covers his thigh. His thumb rubs soft circles on the inside, silently trying to comfort the younger man. It's too early in the morning to make conversation, and Dennis' anxieties are much higher than normal.
This isn’t like his normal rotations. This is the rotation that has been his biggest fear. Not only is everything so stressful but it is the rotation where he and Michael have to pretend to not know each other, and more.
