For everyone, Izaya was a heartless bastard, he was the monster, but one day, they finally knew the reason why . They found out that he was more human than anyone else and was nothing of the monster they thought he was.
When a dangerous Mafia group which members were very odd and abnormally strong was making trouble in ikebukuro, Shinra decided to call Izaya to ask for his help. Izaya had no choice but to secretly come back to Japan and deal with them.

Shiki attempts to rescue Izaya from a rival gang only for the latter to take a bullet for him during the process. He offers to turn the dying informant into a vampire, but neither of them is prepared for the repercussions of such a choice.
