Summary
Drifter has always slid through her long and violent life fighting. The name she was given no longer something she feels she can claim as her own. Born with a blackened soul mark, she knew she would never meet her soul bound mate as they were already dead when she came into being. She slips though time apathetic and lonely going from one shit show to the next, until she is thrust back in time and meets the Hex. A rag tag team of highly trained individuals who are down on their luck and out of time where she meets a man who feels familiar. Her draw to the Hex's leader seems too strong to be just a simple attraction, but how can she move forward when she knows the other half of her soul was cut from existence before she was even born.

I’ll also add smaller, canon scenes that correspond to ‘Just Not Good Enough’ that are mentioned in the proper fic, but didn’t make the cut of their scenes fully panning out. They’re not needed to be read in order to read that fic and understand what’s going on, but they’re still side stories and events that happened at some point in the fic :)

The Drifter's counterpart can't chase them back to 1999, thanks to Eternalism, but the other Tenno don't have that problem! Operator Taurus sends one of her fellow Tenno back in time, with the help of Loid and the Cavia to provide them and the Hex backup. It does not go as planned, leaving Operator Unkown stranded in the clutches of one Lieutenant Viktor Vodyanoi.
The Drifter and the Hex are obviously none too pleased at the revelation, and are forced to plan a rescue mission into the very heart of Scaldra territory.
