The explosion at the Conclave damages the Veil irrevocably, and breaks open Elgar'nan's prison. Solas is still weak from his slumber, but if he does not find a solution quickly, great evil will be released upon the world. Working in secret within the Inquisition, he searches for a way to seal away the Blight and defeat Elgar'nan before time runs out.
Of course he cannot afford to be distracted by the elven woman who has become known as the Herald of Andraste - this would be the worst possible time for him to fall in love.

“Telharthan! Vara u’em!” Her fear spills out of her and it cracks the silence. In its rupture, she hears claws hitting soil, scampering, running, and she’s at her feet. Her head whips around as she runs, trying to find a way out.
There was a howl and standing an impossible length away from her she saw a wolf, head low and it walked slowly at a distance.
