Lucifer, the absolute bastard, tilted his head, voice dipping into something smooth and easy. “Ah, there you are,” he murmured, like Vox was the only person in the room. “I thought you’d start the evening without me.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, babe,” Vox responded smoothly, and—oh. Oh, that one hurt. The sheer fondness for someone else in his tone made Alastor’s ears ring.
Babe. Alastor had never been called that. Not even once.
And because the universe was a cruel and petty thing, Lucifer finally deigned to acknowledge Alastor’s existence—but only after he was done all but licking Vox’s screen in some obnoxiously unnecessary display of sloppily making out with him to show that he could. He glanced over with the kind of mild amusement one might offer an insect they weren’t sure was worth stepping on.
“Alastor,” he greeted. “I wasn’t expecting to see you here.” His smile was a touch too self-satisfying for that to be the case.

Alastor considered the eager and rash freshly fallen sinner from the past, the confident one that slaughtered an overlord that very day, hours prior, and the happy television demon that hummed along to music sitting in front of him now.
Somehow, Vox hadn’t lost his eagerness and sincerity with the growth of power and violence over the years - something Alastor oftentimes knew he, himself, had lost sight of, arguably before he had even fallen.
Witnessing such authenticity, such merriment mixed with strategic violence, had Alastor realize the eagerness within himself to continue to witness Vox adapt and evolve. He didn’t need the television demon there, not for power nor entertainment, he simply wanted—longed for—Vox to be by his side for as long as the other was willing.
Perhaps it was time for Alastor to finally allow himself to be inundated with want of something for a change.

“No Vox.” Why couldn't he drop it? The one subject that could make the Radio Demon squirm and Vox didn't understand to let it go. It wasn't exactly helping the other man's attempts at scoring a date. But it's hardly like Alastor could express how horrid it made him feel to the other overlord.

When Vox comes to confront Alastor about what their relationship is, the Radio Demon is forced to use the fun new words he learned. A TV finds out his crush is aroace and that maybe he should have taken the hint to back off a while ago.
