Summary
This is a rewrite of the first season of Hannibal exploring how the story could have unfolded if Hannibal was a non-toxic character capable of forming genuine bonds with other people even with his psychopathy. This is what the story could have been without Hannibal being toxic, manipulative, and abusive towards Will while still keeping the core traits of his character the same (he's still a psychopath, he's still a serial killer, he's still a cannibal).

Summary

You watch him experience the first waves of psychosis and nightmares, and when he's framed for murder, you think things are truly over for the two of you.
But Hannibal has already made you a pawn in his game with Will. You can't leave him, not now -- not when you're already so trusting of Will despite his violent urges already starting to show through. And when Hannibal finally meets you, he is intrigued by your similarities to Will and your overall intelligence. He realizes during Will's trial how much he likes you, too.

Summary
Will and Hannibal survived the fall and have been hiding in safe houses since. While their relationship is somewhat undefined, the two are hopelessly in love with each other and devoted to one another.
Their domestic bliss is tainted, however, by Will carrying heavy trauma from nearly drowning and reliving it over and over again in his nightmares. Against Hannibal's hopes, the nightmares only get worse rather then better, so Will reluctantly agrees to let him be his psychiatrist and help him work through it. The more they talk about what they went through, the closer their relationship becomes - and, who knows, maybe Will will finally get a good night of sleep in his beloved's arms. -
