Percy and the Seven have made it through the war with Gaea. They are alive and free and able to finally live. In a canon-compliant AU after Gaeas defeat, the fact that Hazel came back from the dead is a secret. Nico Di Angelo made a deal to bring Hazel back, and this binds him for life-break it, and Hazel dies. Hazel doesn't know what he traded-but she knows he hasn't looked the same since. And Nico feels haunted, especially since the deal means nothing is for granted, that in a drop of a hat, everyone could leave him. His sexuality isn't making things easier either.
