Summary
The Calamity strikes, and the Hero falls. 100 years later, he awakens into a world that hates him. He travels around, in the company of a strange wolf, trying to atone for his failure. He succeeds. He defeats the Calamity, but he still fails, in the end. He was too late, and Zelda dies as he fights. Months later, when he is wandering the wilds of Hyrule, a portal opens, and eight strangers fall out, asking him to join them on a quest.

In a bored manner, King Ganondorf asks, “The princess’s favorite flower, what is it?” And he does not look at Link while he asks this, nor does he bother to address Link by name.
Instead, he stares at the backs of his nails, idly pondering the blunt tips of them and their cerulean polish.
It takes a moment for Link to even understand that the question is being directed at him.
The women of the Gerudo court snicker and smirk behind Link’s back. He quickly fumbles with his hands for an answer and he is nearly halfway done with signing the words for ‘Silent’ and ‘Princess,’ when the King sharply barks,
“Do I have to ask again?”
Link’s hands still.
Or, Zelda is set to marry Ganondorf by the end of the year. In the meantime, Link is to stay in the Gerudo Kingdom on her behalf.

It has been three years since the fall of Calamity Ganon and peace has been restored to Hyrule, along with a vernal relationship between Princess Zelda and her Hero of Time, Link. However, when Link suddenly disappears, Zelda turns to the Goddess, Hylia, for answers. What she receives is devastating news. Link has been sent to another world, in a deep slumber, awaiting the time when he will be needed yet again. Zelda, unable to bear his loss from her side, asks for one thing. The chance to find him, no matter the cost, and the cost for World Walking is a hefty toll to pay. She must now traverse between worlds, searching for HER Link, all the while being careful not to alter the course of history for the citizens of those same worlds.
