Astarion felt like he had been sinking in quicksand this whole time, and this mad stranger had just tossed him a rope. All he had to do was grab it and let it pull him to safety. He would be the cat on the hunt this time. He would seduce this man for as long as he needed to. Then, when the moment was exactly right, he would steal his dagger, kill him, and make a clean escape.
He rolled his head back, exposing the delicate curve of his throat like an animal showing its belly in submission. His lips parted perfectly, and his voice dropped to a deep, sultry purr.
“That’s right, darling. I think we’re quite alike, actually…we’re cursed with similar appetites.”
The Dark Urge scoffed. “If only you knew the half of it.”
Astarion used to pray for a hero that could rescue him. 200 years later, the gods finally send him one. Of course, it's only fitting that his hero isn't prince or a paladin, but a mysterious cannibal assassin—a monster as bloodthirsty as he is.
