He had spent a very long time convincing himself that his asexuality meant that there was no use in entertaining his feelings for Remus, telling himself that he shouldn’t as much as try to ‘woo’ Remus and instead just act as normal as he could until the feelings went away by themselves.
There was a certain safety in being convinced that there was nothing to do about his feelings since then he did not have to try, however, it had been making him feel pretty sad lately, how convinced he was that Remus could never like him in such a way, and his feelings were turning out to be more persistent than he had hoped.
