Monty paused to think. His name. He knew what it is, of course, it's the only name he's ever had. But he wasn't sure if it was who he wanted to be anymore. Monty lied. Monty hid. Monty hurt. Monty couldn't do anything right. But maybe if he stopped being Monty, that could all change. He could become stronger and braver. He could be useful. He just wanted to be useful.

He turned the book over in his hands and a few photos fluttered out from between the pages. His eyebrows shot up in surprise as they fell softly to the floor. Charles hadn't been aware Edwin had kept any family photos.The pictures were old, probably as old as the book, he thought, stooping to pick up the fallen papers from the floor. He knew he should tuck them back into the book, leave things be, but curiosity got the better of him as he turned them over in his hands, feeling the weight of the old photo paper. As he inspected the first image, he became accutely aware these were not family photos.

This started as a character study on Tumblr (pssst go check me out @packleaderBriggan) and I found I simply could not shut my mouth. So here we are!
Does anyone else think that, after everything, Monty clung to any way he could feel in control of his own body?
Esther created him. She made him - his body, the very thing he was meant to feel secure in - for the sole purpose of seduction and bait for her traps. He truly was created to be a femme fatale, and his body was nothing more than a tool to further Esther's revenge on the boys and Crystal.
So, once everything is over, once he's finally found a home with Edwin, Charles, Crystal, and Niko (because they all made it out, fight me), what do you think he'd do in a desperate attempt to make his body his own?

“Right. Okay.” Crystal thought fast, assessing the severity of the situation. “There’s a place me and Niko found. A new supernatural bar, and they serve drinks that will get anyone drunk, I’ve been assured. Let’s go.” She grabbed his arm and started to pull him forwards.
“Are you genuinely recommending I get pissed and try to forget about it?” Charles asked, caught between bewilderment and amusement.
“Worked for me and all of my breakups.” Crystal shrugged.
“I’m not going through a breakup!” Charles said hotly.
“Course you’re not.” She rolled her eyes as she linked her arm through his and pulled him towards the door. “But I’m just saying: if he’s moved on, then perhaps the best way to get over him is to get under someone else.”
“That is truly terrible advice.” Charles let out a grudging laugh.

Preferably one far from London and the burnout that comes with helping countless ghosts with their paranormal cases.
