Sometimes I really wish that I had asked Burdie to teach me how to shoot, Dandelion thinks as she pulls out a cracker and begins to carefully eat. She has gotten some supplies from her Dam and some sponsors, some food like broth abd crackers and soup and ointments to help with injuries; but she wanted to carefully ration them so they would last. But would Dam had let me learn?
Then again, there’s the possibility that she could have accidentally blurted out that there is someone in District 12 who knows how to use a bow and arrow.
She has some memories of being brought to the Capitol with its pomp and lavishness that reminded Dandelion once of overly decorated Capitol lemon cakes and those cakes in the Mellark bakery that had too much frosting and looked rather tacky.
