just so the internet and my own hands didn’t make my thoughts disappear due to instability.I ended up with the water set on the hottest setting by the end of my shower this morning. And the chill was not -only- due to the unusual cool of my bedroom last night.

True enough. Especially the things that they don’t consciously realize about themselves yet. Denial is a powerful emotion.

Never downloaded a fic before reading and considering it beforehand, before yours. Just had to have a copy, for the concept. Purposely read nothing but the summary, not even the tags, so I would not spoil the experience.
A clever and daring concept (kudos to the original performance artist) and combination (kudos to you). You captured the pretension and precision of the art world perfectly. And I thought my former artists’ collective could be extreme at times! Pointedly missed one work involving a public humiliation/aftercare scene because of it. Now I’m sad I missed it? Makes me think only vaguely of one of my more playful acts of interactive guerrilla theatre, “Schpotz!”.
And thank you for the reminder to add trauma shears to my shopping list. I kept forgetting what they were called.
I avoided horror for two decades after nightmares as a kid and now I am reading this! My current work in progress is an ornate box that I bought at a movie set after-wrap sale, bearing my added tag that says “Curious?”. It is set outside my front door with a journal with pen in it. The journal has the words “Deep Dark Secrets” on the cover, with an invitation to write your own secret inside, baited with one of my own. It’s been left alone in public, in the foyer at kink events, and outside my door. Only a few entries so far, one banal but others are . . . less so. So much pent up inside other people! 😉
