Summary
As a huge fan of the first two seasons of the Mandalorian, I found the more recent third season to be lackluster and disappointing for a few important reasons.
While I like the focus on Mandalore, the story forgot to focus on Din Djarin and reunited him with Grogu in between seasons, which is both confusing for casual viewers and makes the season two finale null and void.
Where the original season three felt directionless at times, this Din Djarin focused season will take place after both rewrites of the Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka series, however it is not mandatory to read either to understand this season (Only the first two seasons of Mando are recommended)

Damn those pirates for swiping away your only chance to see the galaxy, and forcibly grounding you back on the planet you've called home for your whole life! Now you're doomed to work away each dragging hour of the day salvaging from the wreckage, and fending off stray gang members interested in cargo for your boss whose only promise is that one day you might restore enough cargo to sell, and could finally earn enough credits to start hauling droids again...
well, that is until a certain bounty hunter catches wind of your "exploits" and just so happens to also be looking for more capable fighters for his newly appointed position. And he wants to find out for himself if your reputation proceeds you.
(takes place after the fall of the empire/a few years after the Book of Boba Fett)- also ties into the game (tales from a galaxy's edge) but is more lightly referenced for funzies/extra characters) this story is not-nessisarly cannon compliant.

Mandalore holds a secret too big to keep: the Mandalorians are shapeshifters, sworn by Creed to hide the fact. Din can't stop visiting Mayfeld in his cat form, even though he can't reveal that the cat is also the Mandalorian.

20 years after Endor, Mandalore is thriving.
The same cannot be said for the rest of the Galaxy. The First Order has captured every planet in the outer rim, save Mandalore, sending refugees it's way.
It's leader finds himself on the perilous balancing act of neutrality, with a New Republic set on a strategy of appeasement.
However, as Senator Organa arrives on a diplomatic mission at the same time as the First Order, the Mandal'or finds the tight-rope is even thinner than usual.
Especially when Organa is not so secretly the Head of the Resistance- something that irks both the First Order and the New Republic.
None of that matters to the Mandal'or though, seeing as Organa brings along a bodyguard. A man who the Mand’alor has not seen for a very long time… -
