Moon told himself that for now it was better to worry about the Raksuran lives they could definitely help, and that’s why he’d been checking in regularly to see how River was doing. He wasn’t really expecting him to be awake, which was probably the only reason the suspicious glare caught him off guard when he opened the door to the cabin.

Objectively speaking, the worst way to stop thinking about how desperately in love you were with someone was definitely sitting close to said person and holding their tail as if it belonged to his dearly beloved. He just couldn’t stay away, and each time Simon spread out his wings for him, he felt himself dying a bit inside. It was alright, vampires didn’t have a soul. There wasn’t that much inside him that could die.
