Summary
Ed Teach and Izzy Hands have been working together, buying and flipping houses, for longer than Ed wants to think about. Ed moves in, does all the work, then moves on to the next project.
The trouble is, he's so fucking bored.When he and his dog Ivan move into their latest project, there's something about it that feels different.
In the woods behind the house, is a tree that continued growing up towards the sun even after it had been knocked down. Ed can't help feeling envious of the tree's determination to keep on going when everyone expected it to give up.
That tree leads Ed and Ivan to meet a mysterious and captivating golden-haired man, and the trajectory of all of their lives is changed forever.
This is a story about coming back from your lowest point. Making something beautiful from the ruins of what came before. Working out what you really want from life and going out to get it.

Ed jerks his head in the direction of the couch in the nearby waiting nook, and prepares himself for impending disaster.
The impending disaster follows. Eagerly.
“I’ve organized everything chronologically,” he says, setting the overstuffed briefcase down and thumbing through some of the piles. “But I can, of course, rearrange the presentation order based on your personal preferences! Alphabetically? Most-to-least amusing? Oh! Or a mystery draw - just pick a random folder without looking! That could be fun, couldn’t it?”
Somewhere, deep in Ed’s soul, a very tiny, very tired voice goes: there is something deeply wrong with you as a man, Ed. You’re into this. Don’t even try to fucking deny it.

Summary
It’s the summer of 1959, and classics professor Stede Bonnet is determined to become a new man. He’s made two monumental changes so far: he’s resigned his position at the University of Chicago, where he has taught for his entire career, and he’s left his wife Mary, to whom he has been married for nine years. Now he’s off to the only place in the United States where you can get a no-fault divorce: the deserts of Nevada. He’s checking in to a so-called Divorce Ranch just outside of Reno, where he’ll spend the requisite six weeks establishing residency. After that, it’s off to California to assume his new teaching position and his new life.
It's the summer of 1959. Ed Teach has been living in Reno since he was a teenager. He's a radio DJ, an artist, a handyman and a fixture of the community, particularly popular in the underground gay nightlife scene that is still recovering from the brutal vice raids of the McCarthy era.

Summary
In 2025, best friends Ed and Stede are a week away from opening the flagship store for their joint fashion brand, Gentlebeard. Stede finds an ornate mirror in a new antiques shop, and purchases it for the store, despite warnings from a strange blond Scotsman.
In 1718, Ed and Stede are getting ready to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. The crew brings them an anniversary gift, an ornate mirror that they found on a raid, despite Frenchie's insistence that the mirror is cursed.
The mirror may not be cursed, but 2025 Ed and Stede, and 1718 Ed and Stede quickly learn that it is magic when they swap places.
There's just one tiny problem: there aren't any instructions for how to get home again.
