Summary
When they awoke, they were falling.
Gray rocks rushed past them as they descended, and in seconds their body crashed into the cold stone floor. Their dark body was shot with white-hot pain, and they let out a hoarse cry on impact. They felt as if they could barely move and their head was stuffy as if someone had stuffed it full of cotton.
While their body laid prone on the floor, their mind ran at a faster pace than the best stag. They began to question many things. Where were they? Before this they were...they were...they… they couldn’t remember. Anything. Their name, their past, their whereabouts.
Nothing.

Junpei calmly reached over Mahito’s shoulder for the offered hair tie, his unblemished hands brushing against Mahito’s stitched ones. The boy didn’t so much as flinch at the point of contact, despite seeing -despite knowing what Mahito’s touch could do. What it was capable of.
Instead the boy returned back to his task at hand. His mundane, human want to braid Mahito’s hair for him.

When the tiger brothers Sukuna and Yuji are miraculously rescued, with no family and nowhere to go, they are placed at Shadow Garden Rehabilitation Center and Refuge for hybrids.
Sukuna must navigate the unfamiliar normalcy of greater society and get back on his feet. At stake is the custody of his brother Yuji, the only one in the world on his side. Or so he thinks...

What Junpei doesn't tell Itadori that day is that being with him feels strange—meaning that it feels comfortable. Being with Itadori, walking with him, talking to him and making jokes, feels too easy, too right, in a way that Junpei has never felt around any stranger that came before him. It feels like Itadori is not someone new he met, but an old friend who has been long lost, and who now is coming back to him, piece by piece.
They meet by accident on a summer evening, and everything suddenly feels right.
