Price searches the face of his Lieutenant, the smudged paint, his dull brown eyes, and he holds out his hand, letting it hover by Simon’s face, in an open offer. “You can do it alone, if that’s what you want. But I don’t think that’s what you want, do you?”
Simon closes his eyes and he tilts his head, letting Price touch him; the curve of strong bones, the unfamiliar, rough, blond stubble peppered across his jaw. He exhales, long and soft, breath animal-warm against Price’s hand; still very much alive for someone dead. “You sure? You’d do it?” he mutters, glassy eyes sliding open, intense gaze looking right into Price’s soul.
“Yes,” Price holds his gaze, firm and unyielding. “I won’t make you do this alone.”
