Instead of the Winabego, Buffy agrees to the Porsche, but it turns out the road trip is just the start of the adventure. Confronted with living in close quarters and having to adjust to a different dynamic, Buffy finds herself coming to terms with the changes Spike is attempting to make in himself. Meanwhile, Spike is strugging with those changes, but knows he can't stop loving her. All the while, there's still a Hell God out there, and they'd both die to protect Dawn.
Both Buffy and Spike know this won't end well, they just have no idea what that will look like.

And what's with that echo that traveled with her?

Starts from an alternate version of s06e15 “As You Were”. Buffy thinks some of Riley’s military boys killed Spike. Her reaction surprises everyone, most of all herself.
Turns out Spike’s as alive as ever, but when he gets back, it’s Buffy who isn't quite the same.
