Summary

P.S. Everybody knows that Zoey and Mira are basically in love with Rumi, except Rumi herself. (Even Celene knows). They are on a mission of their own – to confess their feelings for Rumi and then kiss her (multiple times).

Summary
The long story went something like this: Cheong Myeong was reckless and clever, and a bit stupid at times for obvious reasons, which led to people making the assumption that he was actually one of the biggest troublemakers in the whole world. Seeing as no one knew where he came from or if he was an orphan or something, everyone assumed that this was home to him—it was, it was his only home, the only one he could ever want—but of course they also assumed it meant he was never over at his old residence, and therefore every scar he had in this body, well, it had to have come from a terrible place.
The short story, and the version that Cheong Myeong was more likely to tell people, actually went something like this: he had no clue, so stop asking.
(or: while he knew he rubbed off on the disciples, he didn’t realize he rubbed off on them enough for them to start fact-checking him over things that they shouldn’t be asking about. his old wounds included.)

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”

genuinely some of the BEST fucking works ive ever read as i read this all in one go on the plane
they have such a natural relationship i love them sm. their dialogue, witty banter, and bickering? UGH I LOVED ALL OF IT I WAS ALWAYS DYING LAUGHING READING IT IT WAS SO GREAT MY JAW ACHED FROM SMILING SO MUCH
the misunderstandings angst on "oh no im emotionally cheating on mira/zoey im ruining everything" and "im a homewrecker oh no!" GOT ME SO BAD THIS FIC WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD
i cant recommend this enough i think its the best polytrix fic ive read, with it having the best dialogue ive read i cant give this enough love it had everything from fluff to angst to crack ugh i love it -
