John is way too pleased that he made Bob laugh. He likes this— this easy thing between them.

The nickname was always on the tip of his tongue whenever he wanted to address him and, more than once, it slipped, making the younger man flinch. John didn't want Bob to flinch because of him. Ever. So, he decided to come up with some other nickname for him.
