    It started innocently enough — if anything in the Tomioka–Shinazugawa–Sabito household could ever be called innocent.

    The clock struck nearly midnight, the living room lights still burning warm, half-empty bottles and baby toys scattered across the floor.

    Sabito had Tanjirou balanced easily on his hip, the toddler giggling uncontrollably as his tiny legs kicked in the air.

    “Stinky,” Sabito teased, wrinkling his nose dramatically.

    Giyuu, very drunk and sitting cross-legged on the rug with his hair slightly frizzed from humidity and bad decisions, gasped like Sabito had just committed treason.

    Across the room, Sanemi bit his lips, but he still couldn't hide the slight tug of a smile making itself known.

    The Hashira were all dragged into a bustling sake house after a mission. Naturally, Giyuu wanted to go home, but Mitsuri clasped his sleeve with those sparkly, determined eyes.

    “Giyuu-san, it’ll be fun! Please come! Everyone’s going!”

    He couldn’t exactly say no without looking like a heartless grump in front of her, so… he ended up seated in the corner, quietly nursing cup after cup, thinking no one would notice how much he was actually drinking.

    Spoiler: they noticed.

    OR the hashira went for a rare night out for a drink, and unexpectedly stumbled upon a drunk giyuu who may or may not have some interesting charm that caught most of them off guard.

     
    Alternatively,
    Giyuu unintentionally flirts while drunk, making sanemi, uzui, rengoku and obanai combust.

Everything changed so fast, and somehow I’m the one left dizzy with it. But don’t tell anyone—they’ll just think I’m being dramatic.”

    Since Bobby’s death, the team's dynamic had shifted. And he should've been used to turning around on the calls and seeing Ravi beside him—handing him tools, helping with the tasks—but it still left him unsettled. Because every time he turned around, he expected to see Eddie. But he was somewhere else, with Hen at his side, sharing inside jokes, moving in a weirdly terrifying sync. It used to be them.

    The words hung in the air like lightning.

    For a moment, even Ubuyashiki’s calm expression flickered with faint surprise.

    “You will?”

    “Yeah.” Sanemi’s tone was gruff, but steady. “Someone’s gotta make this look real. And since Tomioka’s too damned polite to fake a relationship, I’ll take the hit.”

     

    Across the room, Giyuu blinked, lips parting slightly. “You… what?”

    He looked down at her briefly, jaw tightening. “You heard me.”

    Ubuyashiki’s gentle voice returned, like the rustle of falling leaves. “Then it’s decided.”

    His eyes softened, full of quiet gratitude. “You have my gratitude, Sanemi. Giyuu."
