Summary
So you want me to spy on the Prime’s youngling, is that it?”
“Sure, if that’s what…ya need to call it…to feel better ‘bout it,” Ricochet shrugged, venting.
“Just watch them,” Ratchet’s voice echoed with a rumble of his engine. “Ricochet trusts you to keep those little scraplets out of trouble and we need someone who isn’t going to enable them with the others. Keep an optic and report back to me, if you’re too worried about talking to Prime. He’ll be in debriefings the whole slag shift anyway.”
Drift wanted to refuse again. But reporting to Ratchet…didn’t sound like such a bad thing. Not that Drift would say that out loud. So instead he just let out a huff and a vent.
Ratchet’s engine rumbled again and Minerva took the cue to transform next to him, ready to follow. “Thanks, kid.” And they were gone.
Just like the little scraplets Drift was supposed to be following.
Slag.

Summary
“It’s a beautiful lunar cycle, I see.”
He couldn’t help but smile, just a bit. “Clearest one we’ve had in a long time.”
He tilted his head a bit to the side, leaning more on one arm than the other as he sat on the steel railing of the balcony outside the tower of the Autobot headquarters. Most mechs didn’t come up here, because it was mainly for communications and satellite monitoring. He wondered how long it took Red Alert to notice him and ping Optimus. He hadn’t been hiding, even if he had been…waiting. Waiting for answers. Because waiting was easier than having to deal with this right now.
============================
Jazz has been avoiding an important conversation, and somehow Optimus makes it easy and hard at the same time.

Summary
He made sure his team was deep into the underground tunnel E818 – one with three exits, including a secret one he was sure the Quintessons hadn’t found yet or they would have used it long before now – before he stopped, watching the distance between them grow and grow.
“Bee,” he called out, “when ya get back to base, tell Blaster he’s gonna need to drop the beat.”
Then he set off the nearest hidden charges he knew were planted in every mine shaft and tunnel. Just enough of them to collapse this side of the mine and prevent anyone else from following.
“What was–Jazz! Jazz, do–!”
His words were cut off as the ceiling of the mine collapsed right in front of Jazz’s face, making him step back just enough to avoid getting hit by the debris.
======
Jazz sacrifices himself to save his team, and that leads to a less-than-fun time for Jazz. But he's not worried. He knows if he waits long enough, someone is coming to get him. Sucks for the Quintessons that the one coming is exactly who Jazz thinks it will be.

Summary
While investigating potential activity at a long abandoned outpost from a bygone age, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe may find that things are more than meets the eye…and the spark. And somehow it’s all Thundercracker’s fault.
=======================
“Oh come on, it’s not that bad,” Sideswipe laughed, because even if Sunstreaker wasn’t saying any of his thoughts out loud, he wasn’t exactly hiding his disdain.
“It is that bad, and we shouldn’t even be here, this was supposed to be Mirage and Hound’s mission,” Sunstreaker muttered “We don’t do SpecOps for a reason.”
“Yeah it’s the fact that you suck at sneaking,” Sideswipe said.
“And the fact you suck at remembering anything of value to report.”
“So they sent us both to make one serviceable SpecOps mech.”

Summary
When peace decides it's time and all one can do is go along with it, it can leave some people with a lot of free moments for thinking about things that aren't war. Things about life, love, existential crises and the unresolved tension you have with the mech you've been in conflict with for over four million years. Maybe it leaves enough free time to deal with other things, too. Things you didn't even know you needed to deal with and might prefer you never, ever knew.
But when has Optimus Prime ever been allowed to work through his issues in a healthy way that doesn't create a potential diplomatic incident? Right about now, if Jazz (and Megatron) has anything to say about it.
----------------
A little huff drew him back to the present, to the future, to the small space between them on that balcony. “How easy it is to lose you in a conversation,” Megatron said. “One might think I was not engaging enough for you.”
“You never had trouble keeping me engaged before,” Optimus replied with a raised brow of his own. “Perhaps you are no longer capable of rising to the challenge of holding my attention.”

Summary
The Music of Life is played by notes you hear every day, if you take the time to listen. Jazz has played a lot of notes in his life, danced to even more. Sometimes a new note can shift perspective for everything he thought he was ready for, but he wouldn't change a thing.

Summary
Somehow, some way, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe keep ending up in situations where they have to cooperate with or, even worse, find common ground, with the Decepticons Elite Trine. And it always comes back to that time they were trapped in an abandoned underground city together.
Sunstreaker doesn't know why this keeps happening, but one of these days he really is going to kill one of them.
Except Thundercracker. Maybe he can live.

TF Rare Pairs 2024 by Kattli (Kathrine)

Summary
These are all of my fics for the TF RarePairing Fest 2024. Majority of them aren't connected to each other, but some of them will exist in the same story-verse just because I can. I prefer to post each fic individually instead of as a chaptered piece. Most of these are a bit raw and unpolished as I'm writing and sharing for the Fest then I'll be going back and doing a better proofread and cleaning them up after the Fest is over!
I'll be writing a different ship for each prompt I do and the ship for the prompt is randomized so your guess is as good as mine what's coming out of this.

Summary
After Jazz suffers an injury in the field, he's forced to navigate an entirely new kind of battle as a new, somewhat untrained saboteur, struggling with the reduced functionality in his leg and a crew made up of shut-in scientists and new recruits. Early into his first mission, he will discover a regime cruel enough to make mesh crawl... and have to use everything at his disposal (and then some) to thwart Megatron's best intelligence officer.
...
"There are an infinite number of things I could attempt to warn you about. Unfortunately, much of spying is defined by decisions you make in moments that span kliks… so you may not have time to recall what I tell you, regardless.” Mirage sighs. “It is necessary that you immerse yourself completely in your story. Know who you are. If you act as that version of yourself in perpetuity and maintain a perfect confidence in your false motive— you will be surprised at how easy it is to lie. People trust their immediate assumptions. The assuredness of your gait, or even just the implication that you belong, is enough… so long as the enemy is given that first impression that you belong in their sphere. You must wield perception itself as your weapon.” -

Summary
The more things change, the more things stay the same.
Or
They were found abandoned in Kaon. Left behind, unwanted, made to fend for themselves. Then, they were found, and brought away from the alleys and streets. They gained a home, and safety, and more importantly than anything else, a family. They grew, and the war ticked on. Things may have changed as the vorns passed by, but not as much as they thought. Because no matter what else changed , they had their family.
Or
Family, through the vorns of war. In all the ways it changed, in all the ways it remained the same.
(Jazz and Optimus wouldn’t change it for anything.)
