  1. Children of the Moon by

    Summary

    This is a two part series based on the Stray Kids music videos "Red Lights" and "Escape" and my interpretation of of how those two stories are connected.

    It explores the journey of how Chan and Hyunjin (the characters, not the idols) get from where they start out in Red Lights to the events of Escape, following the story of their love and their relationship as hunter and prey. They face a world that is burning down around them, both literally and figuratively as they turn each other's worlds upside down. It includes my own loose interpretation of wolf and moon mythology/lore that I call The Children of the Moon.

    "A Prison of Red Lights" is PART 1

    "Escape the Silence" is PART 2 It is a direct sequel to Red Lights and does not stand on its own, reading Red Lights will be necessary before reading Escape.

Villain parents, broken legacy hero families, criminal activity...many things that could divide them, but within the first month of their first year, they become friends and then best friends.     The human race, more commonly known as the Anthri people, have achieved dominion over the galaxy. Now the most important thing is to fill it with more humans. The galaxy may be immense, but it is made almost entirely of inhospitable worlds, and there is nowhere near enough organic material to feed an empire so large. The growing Anthri population-- those who can't afford food or clean air-- are forced to contort themselves into things more machine than human and live off of silicon. All the while, the threat of their supposedly extinct enemies lurks at the edges of the galaxy, held at bay only by the glamorous, idolized Xanarel. In a society where humans are sacred and failing to produce more is a sin against the race and the universe, any variation in gender or sexuality is grounds for excommunication. On opposite ends of the Xanarel entertainment feed, two bands of outcasts struggle to navigate the galaxy as they process their own identities and places in the great, spiraling universe.
