Maybe Viktor hadn’t seen it. Maybe he’d deleted it instantly. Maybe he was summoning HR and preparing a strongly worded email titled ‘Professional Boundaries.’Jayce imagined his dramatic exit—throwing his coffee cup on the floor in frustration, dramatically ripping his tie off like he was in an action sequence, and walking out in slow motion to some hauntingly emotional soundtrack.
But there was no soundtrack. Just the sound of his own racing thoughts.
He closed his eyes. Somehow slept.
And dreamed of Viktor looking at him across the office and saying:
“You’re terminated. Also, moisturise.”
