    Two figures stood in a snow covered field. Cale, with his blood-red hair creating great contrast with the scene around, stared up. However, a totally different shadow fell behind him—this one with a large body, white eyes, and a grin. The other figure, with black hair reaching his shoulders, stubble on his face, and tired eyes, looked solemnly down at Cale. The man’s shadow also looked different—almost that of a deranged clown.

    The man leaned over and whispered something Cale had not heard for nearly two lifetimes.
