Why had he offered to help him? Honestly, Xisuma wasn’t very sure either. It was probably because of the concern his player had shown.

His eyes were a bright, vibrant red, gone from the natural burnt color they normally were. There was a smear of blood across his bottom lip and Mumbo’s attention shifted from Grian’s hand — now clean of any of his blood — and down to Grian’s face.

Scar truly is unfairly pretty tonight. His hair is mussed from both Dodgebolt and drinking, the left strap of his long green dress falling past his shoulder. Grian mentally traces its path over his bicep, then trails further— Scar's arms are incredibly muscled, and his hands are large and square, nails bitten off at the ends. Grian knows from experience that they're warm, solid. If Grian reached out, would Scar let him hold them?
It takes him a moment to realize Scar's stopped talking. Grian's eyes snap back up to his face; Scar's staring at him with an unreadable expression, swaying slightly on his feet. Grian has to force himself not to step further into his space, do something stupid that will land him in deep trouble when they're sober later.
"Sorry," Grian says belatedly. "I didn't quite catch what were you sa—"
Scar tilts forward, crowding Grian against the tile they'd just been critiquing; his body forms a long, warm line against Grian's. Caught between that encompassing heat and the cold tile at his back, Grian shivers.

Scar peeked up at Grian through his auburn locks, and the sight caused Grian to flush. God. The sweat sticking to the man's forehead, the subtle look of lust in his eyes as he peered through long eyelashes, the rest of the man's face obscured by his incredibly muscular arms. Planting itself in Grian’s gut, the image spread magma throughout his abdomen, and he couldn’t help but acknowledge the tinge of heat on his cheeks.
He cleared his throat.
“Are you sure?” Scar whined, still lying against the desk. “This is already taking forever,” He groaned again, dragging his chin to rest on his forearm. The zoo keeper bit his lip in frustration, looking to the side. “I just want this permit business to be over with-”

He hadn't had dinner. He only had a banana for breakfast. Did bananas make you fat? Maybe it was still too much. People- People don't date chubby guys...and if Grian was being honest with himself. Really honest with himself. He liked Scar too.
Grian stared at the flesh of his stomach, narrowing his eyes as he calculated the best course of action. People don't date chubby guys. People don't date pigs. They don't like pigs. He couldn't mess this up like he did with Calvin. Fool me once and all of that.
Expelling a sigh, Grian reached into his pocket for his phone and opened up Google and searched up how long a person could go without food for.

He was wingless, undeniably, which was freaky enough as is, but he’d also seemingly had a whole wardrobe makeover. He was in these nice, almost fake looking matching pajamas, and his hair was weirdly perfect for him having just been asleep. And now that he was looking at the out of place mirror, it occurred to him that his entire room was completely different. It was modern, and artificially cozy, and not at all like how he’d decorate a room.
