Summary
"Buck goes to work. He talks to his coworkers, never letting conversations go any deeper than shallow small talk, no matter how hard they try. When the shifts are over, he hurries to his empty apartment, always alone.
During the days between shifts he doesn’t answer his phone. Eventually, the calls and texts peter out.
Eddie tries to talk to him a few times, invites him over to hang out, but after many refusals, excuses and uncomfortable stuttering, he leaves Buck alone. Instead of feeling relieved, Buck cries himself to sleep after the first shift in which Eddie doesn’t approach him."
or, Eddie announces he's leaving the 118, and Buck spirals.

Summary
"Buck woke up surrounded by early morning light. He didn't need to open his eyes to know where he was; the familiar smells and rhythmic ticking of the clock on the living room wall revealed he was in the Diaz household.
It was in those brief seconds in the in-between, right when sleep gave way to wakefulness, that he noticed the less familiar feeling of a hand resting on his stomach. The surprise cleared his head and brought back flashbacks of the night before."
Buck and Eddie, the morning after.

Summary
Set a few months from now, after the reunion.
"Come upstairs," Aaron asked, hand stretched out towards Robert.
"Sure you don't want to finish the movie first?" Robert joked, a sly smile on his face. He took Aaron's hand as he stood up.
"Not for that," Aaron laughed, giving him a light shove. "I wanna ask you something, but it might be better if I show you." Still holding Robert's hand, he walked backwards towards the stairs. "Come on."

Summary
"Lukas nodded, biting his lip, and extended his arm towards Philip, hand wide open. Philip took it without hesitation, interlocking their fingers, and squeezed tightly. It was starting to get familiar, with all the handholding they had done that day. Not that Lukas was going to complain, though. He would take all the support he could get."
Lukas is now ready to talk about what happened at the cabin, and if that means telling other people about Philip, well, it had to happen sooner or later. At least he's not alone.
