    Summary

Morinaga Souko returns to the town she spent her teenage years in for a vacation with her wife, daughter, and granddaughter. But she finds she can't quite get over her lingering guilt over how she never reconciled with Natsume Reiko all those years ago. She takes a walk through Hitoyoshi, the town Reiko once lived in, only to run into a strange boy who looks just like Reiko. He somehow knows her name, and he has something to tell her...

"The boy looked up at her and Souko felt like she’d been hit by a truck.

Golden eyes with curious cat-like pupils. Soft, fine hair framing delicate features. A perfect, carefully practiced smile. An ugly bruise on the forehead, and she could almost hear Reiko's voice saying “Don’t worry about it.”

The phantom of her first love had appeared, gleaming in the sunlight, looking just as she had the day she met her."

    Summary

There are obvious conclusions to be made about Natsume Takashi.

"Who's he talking to?" "There's no one there" "Unstable"

The people of Natsume's new home make those conclusions the same as everyone else. The difference lies somewhere else.

"Take your time" "Do you need help?" "So what?"

    Summary

It's the first winter after Pitch's defeat. Jack is happy, he's not alone anymore, and his memories are gradually returning. But when a treasure hunt gone wrong puts Jack and Jamie in danger, flinging them through time and space, they find themselves on an island neither of them have heard of before. Jack's first priority is to get Jamie home safe, but Berk's inhabitants - human and otherwise - are certainly not making it easy.

Knowing they will leave Berk and the Vikings behind as soon as they know how to, Jack is not going to risk the pain of growing close to any of these people (or dragons, for that matter). But Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, wearing his heart on his sleeve, doesn't seem to want to take the hint.

    Summary

Roy never thought he would see another pair of golden eyes in his life.

The first thing Roy set his gaze on had not been the huge suit of armour, nor the little boy’s double amputation or the wheelchair, and not even the soulless look in his eyes. It had been the colour of them.

It felt like he’d lost the ability to breathe. Seeing that kid made him choke on his tongue, cutting off oxygen to his lungs as if he’d just been punched in the gut. He might as well have, from how fast his heart dropped.

    ---

or, Hohenheim has a reoccurring trait of walking out on his kids, and his wife dying a year later. Also all three kids have golden eyes and a tendency to immediately go try human transmutation after a traumatizing event. This changes how Roy sees the Elric brothers. His brothers.

    Summary

The man’s voice once again broke him from his thoughts; “In my dreams I see them tortured by Fire Nation soldiers. I see my entire culture wiped from the South, our footprint upon the ice shelves gone as though we never existed, our connection with the spirits and our ancestors forgotten.” He was silent for the briefest of moments, then, “You’re Fire Nation, aren’t you?”

Zuko rolled onto his side, facing the wall, scar pressed into the arm that cushioned his head. “Once, maybe.”

“Answer me this, then; when will this war see it's end?”

Zuko, recalling the fire that had burned in Azula’s sunlit gaze the day she’d caught up to him, chose not to respond.
