Summary
(AU Where Freed never went to Tenrou Island) Laxus will do whatever it takes to get Freed back, because for some stupid reason Fairy Tail doesn't feel like the home he knew. It feels empty without the Rune Mage. Freed on the other hand is consumed with despair, guilt, and fear. He betrayed his family, he didn't deserve celebrating the fact that his friends had returned back from the dead. In all that; emotions are raging, magic is colliding. All because two hearts lost their other half.
Freed can't leave Lamia Scale.
Laxus won't leave the Royal City without Freed.
Lyon just doesn't want to lose his more than friend to the man that caused him so much pain.
Luckily the Grand Magic Games is the place to bring people together.

Fraught Fraxus. Sometimes tangential, sometimes really deep (like Freed self-harming with runes). Writing errors, but totally bearable, and worth the read.

Summary
Everything about this mission went wrong: Laxus forgot his toothbrush and had to borrow Freed's, his sleeping bag mysteriously vanished, massive storms, road closures, delayed trains. Now, he's been cursed with something he never thought would be a weakness: his own hair. Laxus has to get through the next few days with super long hair without going totally insane or getting tangled in his own tresses. Luckily, he has Freed with him, who knows all too well how to handle long locks... and an irate Lightning Dragon Slayer.
