“No post on Sundays” Uncle Vernon announced happily, “No damn letters today-”
Something came whizzing down the kitchen chimney as he spoke and caught him sharply on the back of the head. The next moment, thirty or forty letters came pelting out of the fireplace like bullets.
“That does it!” he snapped, his beady little eyes focused solely on Harry, “It’s you that they want. And they won’t stop coming after us until you’re… gone”.
Harry didn't like the sound of that.
“But Vernon, we can’t! You heard what that- that despicable old man told us!”
“Don’t worry, pet” Vernon said, his nasty grin triumphant, “I’ll leave him someplace so far away that those freaks will never trace him back to us. There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. I’ll leave him there, and then we can get back to our nice, normal life”.Or, the one where Harry doesn't attend Hogwarts in first year but finds his way to the wizarding world anyway, and this changes everything.

Summary
While attempting to escape the Department of Mysteries after discovering that the whole thing was a trap, Harry gets caught in an explosion involving a Portkey. Coming to, he discovers that he’s nowhere he recognizes and has been separated from his friends with nothing but the clothes on his back.
All too soon, he discovers that he’s stranded in a world not his own, with his only way back destroyed. Worse yet, it seems to be the apocalypse, and it’s all he can do to remain one step ahead of blood-thirsty monsters trying their best to kill him.
His rotten luck takes a turn when he runs into a family also on the run and they gladly take him in while he does his best to navigate this strange new world. However, time doesn’t seem to be on his side as Harry and his new friends get caught up in the chaos that is Kirkwall’s seedy political machinations.
Running from Templars and rescuing mages, there isn’t much free time to find a way back home. But Harry has never been good at ignoring the suffering of others, even when it would benefit him to keep his head down.

Neira Stormchaser was once a slave on Tatooine. Having fled servitude to the Hutts, she had made a space for herself on Imperial Centre until she is handed a file regarding a particular person's insane accounts and expenses (who in the Galaxy crashes this many starships??).
She would like the record to state, she is not paid enough to chase Dark Lords around their own Cruiser, whether they be avoiding her, bowing to a Depur or murdering incompetent officers and/or grumpy old men from the Desert. She is definitely not paid enough to deal with Kitster eating popcorn in the background or Kix's constant babying of said Dark Lord.
