this fic begins during the shibuya arc (during their first blue lock break) and it's a bit different than canon. i'll add tags as i update!

Summary
In this Naruto AU, the Fourth Great Ninja War went differently, as in horribly and dreadfully wrong. In an effort to restore some semblance of balance to the world, it is decided that two survivors would be sent back in time to stop Kaguya's rise before it destroys the world. Hyuuga Hinata just never imagined that it would be her and Shikamaru sent back. Or that their journey to the past would be rocky and imbalanced from the start. Now both will have to contend with guilt, feelings of inferiority, and grief as they navigate the violent, political mess that engulfs the Elemental Nations. Nobody, not even trained ninjas, are ever prepared to start at the beginning again, after all.

I highly recommend reading the series in order, except The world doesn't deserve you, unless you want to read a canon divergence fic when the ASL Brothers were still kids on dawn.

“Because you’re scared of me,” Ryusei pronounced like it was a secret. His head was tilted to the side, his elbow propped on the couch, and his legs folded in ways that allowed him to be close to Rin.
“Is that what you dream about? Don’t include me in your fantasies.” Rin was fully facing him now.
“Don’t change the subject. Prove you’re not scared by playing the game with me,” Ryusei said, leaning in Rin’s personal space like a predator sniffing its prey. Rin did look appetizing today, clad in a cozy hoodie and a pair of thin football shorts. “Then, I promise I’ll tell you all about my fantasies, and you’ll see if they include you.”
