Abi hates ghosts. She knows they're real, because she was haunted by one at Hackett's Quarry Summer Camp.
Now that they've been proven innocent in the murders of the Hackett family, they need a way to get income. Nobody wants to hire people with a previous criminal record, even if its been expunged, and it doesn't help that their names are still in the news.
Freelance is their best bet, and Craigslist has a surprising amount of requests for paranormal investigators.

The morning on the first school day of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy - the birds sing to one another, the trees sway, the wind whistles through ships riggings and speeds Arcano-tech cars and buses to the school.
Here, six students, as of yet strangers, converge, anxious and confident in equal measure, with no idea of who they will become to one another in such a short amount of time, heading into the newest part of their lives.

Summary
It starts with the death of King Itham of Fallinel. Riz's abduction by the Court of Stars would've been a non-starter if it hadn't been revealed that he was the last of the king's line after his father's sisters refused the throne. Someone should've warned the Court of Stars the consequences of taking one of their own. It's a no holds barred rescue mission and if the Bad Kids have to dismantle the Court of Stars, so be it.
But it won't end there. The Shadow Cat is manipulating events from the shadows and it's up to the Bad Kids to find out what's rotten in the material plane, no matter the cost.- Language:
