Summary
After the explosion, Dr Robotnik learnt three things in quick succession:
1. A sufficiently large detonation combined with a sufficiently large amount of Chaos Energy creates a wormhole through which one can travel (or be sucked at the last second) to a parallel universe relatively safely.
2. Earth seemed to stay pretty consistent across most universes.
3. It appeared that, after a life of self-imposed seclusion in the manner of a gizmo-ridden, super-genius, hermetic monk, when it came down to brass tacks, Dr Robotnik was hard-pushed to tell the difference between most Earths.Dr Robotnik jumps through universes to try and get back home, confronting his feelings for Agent Stone along the way.

Summary
They’re calling him ‘the world’s savior’. He may have tried to destroy it first, and he may have cleaved the moon in half, but when it came down to it, Doctor Robotnik chose to sacrifice his own life to save everyone on earth. The people who shut him out. Rejected him. Resented him. Thanks to him, life goes on. Thanks to him, humanity still has a world to live on.
Stone’s world, though, floats outside of earth’s atmosphere, nothing but space dust among the stars. Robotnik may have steered the laser away from the planet, but it still blew Stone’s world into a thousand tiny pieces.

Summary
Tom unlocks the latch and pries the window open, wincing at the strain as he sticks his head out. He squints into the darkness, trying to see what fresh hell had shown up at his doorstep this time. He’s seen a lot in his day, so he can’t imagine much phases him anymore. It takes a lot to surprise him. He half expects to see a swarm of government agents, or a platoon of militarized vehicles gunning down his front door, or maybe even a technicolor alien causing havoc on his lawn. He wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow at any of that stuff anymore. Just another Tuesday for him.
But what he doesn’t expect to see is Robotnik’s former lackey, sobbing hysterically and throwing rocks at his window.

Grief is a hell of a drug. And so is coffee. Especially when it’s a triple shot espresso spiked with vodka.
