He’d retired a long time ago, almost three decades, in fact, having figured that he at least deserved to pursue his passions in life after working so tirelessly for so many years. So he’d dropped off the face of the continent completely, armed himself with a glamour around his wrist, and started learning the Seven Liberal Arts in Oxenfurt, enjoying the increasingly wild rumours around his own disappearance and death.
That was when he’d stopped paying attention to what people were saying about who he’d been as Julian, the witcher who destroyed monsters with his swords and people with his wit, and that had apparently been his mistake.

But they're cut from the same cloth, plagued by the same fears. Kirishima shrouds it in bravado and cheer, but it's in moments like this, in the slivers of space between, that some of his uncertainties creep through, a passing cloud over normally sunny features.
He'll always have doubts. He'll always be fighting them. Luckily it isn't just his skin that's unbreakable.

The person who had first made him feel like the bat cave was his home, the first person who had really made him feel like he belonged WASN'T HERE ANYMORE.That thought hurt Damian even more as he pushed forth to trying to speak with his father. To try to explain SOMEHOW.
“I am your blood son…” He stated, crossing his arms as he stopped walking away, “But Grayson was… the first Robin to your Batman…” Damian turned around, eyes narrowing in on Bruce's still form, pleading for him to understand, “and I was the first Robin to Grayson’s Batman.”
