Pugsley Addams, now attending Nevermore himself, is taller, more confident, and rooming with Eugene. New students arrive. Familiar faces — Yoko, Bianca, Xavier — gather again at lunch, sharing stories of their summer.
But one face stands out: Enid Sinclair.
She’s different now. Her hair is styled with new bangs and curled tips, dyed in soft blue and pink. Her usual warmth is still there, but something behind her eyes has changed. There’s a strange stillness when she looks at Wednesday, a closeness that feels tighter, more possessive.
That night, as Wednesday writes at her typewriter, Enid watches her from across the dorm. The silence is thick. Wednesday feels it — that something isn’t the same. Enid is touchier, always near, and her light blue eyes don’t look at Wednesday like a best friend anymore.
They look like she’s already hers.
And Wednesday doesn’t know what that means yet.
But she will.
