Five long, shitty years later, Gideon lay curled up on a rug by the fire, blinking back tears as she stared into the fireplace. That particular night in the early spring always saw her deep in her feelings because it was the anniversary of the day she was turned into a dragon by a cranky enchantress masquerading as a sopping wet traveler.
“My prince, canst thou spare a bed for a poor, lonely maiden such as myself traveling alone on a stormy night?” Gideon mewed and waved a claw vaguely in the air. “Hasn’t she ever read porn? That’s literally always how it starts.”
