    omg I skimmed the tags before reading and caught 'married couple' and when I started the actual fic, I thought 'huh, that's weird, mike and will aren't actually together yet? that's weird, but ok whatever.'

    AND THEN THEY WERE!!!!! you did SUCH an excellent job on priming the audience using the kids' text exchanges that when it came to the actual story, even though alone it could've been ambiguous, I was just as convinced as the kids that mr wheeler and mr byers just had crushes on each other! I had to go back and reread to see what I had missed. and it was the details and wording like mentioning the orange cat and THEN saying '*they* moved across the country', or mike thinking about asking will to catch a movie (classic first date idea), or even mike saying will was one of his favourite coworkers/working in the same building as will was a perk and he looked forward to their lunch breaks together. all of those could've been chalked up to crush behavior!!! but also reading with the knowledge that they were married, OF COURSE they were married! you crafted that part EXTREMELY well and I am very impressed. to the point where, when we skipped to the beginning of ch3 and they were married all of a sudden, I thought we had a time skip or something and was deeply confused. man. in another life I was one of the teens in that whyers group chat.

    The first time it happens, Will classifies it as a little accident.

    When he wakes, the morning sun is burning through the window onto their faces, and Mike’s cursing as he stands to close the curtains, stumbling all the way.

    “Scoot over,” he grumbles, voice dry, and for a second Will can’t do anything other than sigh like a lovesick idiot. It’s a second too late for Mike, because he grumbles more words Will doesn’t catch under his breath and then physically pushes Will towards the wall to lay beside him, arm over Will’s middle. A second of silence passes, then Mike sighs, only to whine: “Fuck, my head hurts.”

    Will can’t help it: he breaks down laughing, much to Mike’s offense.

    WHAT THE FUCK! WHAT THE FUCK! WHAT THE FUCK! WHEN I TELL YOU I THRASHED AND LET OUT STRANGED SCREAMS AND HIT THE CHOKING EMOTE ON MULTIPLE INSTANCES. MIKE THE EMPTY RATTLING CAN-HEADED MAN THAT YOU ARE. stupidest mfs I've ever seen. your portayal of oblivious will was so good that at certain points I did find myself also considering that mike really WAS doing all that platonically. the fight that resolved the miscommunication made me giggle like a maniac like mike getting his heart shattered while will is the most confused he's ever been in his life. dear lord they're stupid. this may be the first oblivious will fic I've read. if not the first oblivious will fic then at least the first oblivious will fic to this degree. author I love you.
