Summary
“You still haven’t said where you disappeared to for hours,” Jack says.
“Why is it any of your business?” Kent asks, abruptly frustrated. Jack had to suspect, or he wouldn’t be this persistent. Kent had thought they were doing plausible deniability, though, the same way Jack looked the other way when Kent made a dirty play.
In the summer after his first season in Québec, Kent goes out to pick up guys. Jack thinks this is a terrible idea.

Summary
He does his best to unclench his jaw and uncramp his hands in the pockets of his blue hoodie, but there's a vibe which Samwell gives off that is already putting him in high-alert mode. Samwell U is one of the smaller ones in Massachusetts: It's the perfect balancing act of being too big to be quiet and too small for him to not have eyes on him everywhere he goes.
Jack hates it already.

Summary
Jack isn’t really sure what he was expecting when he went to sleep on August 2.
Kind of. Or maybe he just doesn’t want to admit that he genuinely thought he’d wake up in Georgia, in those checker-patterned, sunlight-limned sheets. That he’d go downstairs and hear Suzanne Bittle bustling around in the kitchen, and greet her wearing her son’s socks and his pajamas and his sweet, bashful blush.
It’s kind of a wake-up call when he wakes up next to a naked guy instead.

Summary
He remembers Kent at seventeen, sharp and mellow in equal measure. He gets a little bit of whiplash looking at Kent now. This Kent’s a little thicker too, muscle thewed down his arms, light dust of pale hair lining the bone. That’s not what keeps catching Jack off-balance. It’s not that Kent doesn’t look right. It’s that he doesn’t look at Jack right.
Or, Jack takes a bad hit and forgets the past
threeeight years of his life.
