Summary
Lowering her body down into the body of water, a hiss escaped her lips as the fresh wounds were engulfed by the hot water. The clear water quickly turned crimson as water immersed her. Faint hand prints were left one by one along the sides of the tub, and drips of water mixed with orc blood trickled down. The further she sunk down, the more flakes of dried blood floated along the surface of the water, along with various debris that clung to her body.
Quietly, she groaned, running soap over her aching body. Areas that once were monotone were now littered with multicolored bruises, evidence of her encounter from earlier in the day. Her groans grew louder, however, when she moved to wash her hair. Between the pain from when she had taken a huge hit to the hit during the battle and her achy shoulders, washing her blood and dirt-stained hair was a near-impossible task.

“What troubles you, my love?” He murmured into her hair and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
She didn’t answer at first. She took his free hand that rested on the leg that laid atop of his and intertwined her fingers with his own. Y/N lifted their intertwined hands and lifted them up to her lips and kissed his calloused hands. Another stray tear fell down her cheek and landed on their hands. Eomer released his hand from her grip briefly and wiped away her tear-stained cheek before he placed his fingers underneath her chin and tilted her face gently until she met his gaze.
“Promise you will return to me,” she asked, her fingers wrapped around his wrist.

Bowing his head, the man left her. A sigh left her, running her hand through her hair, feeling the dried blood sitting in her hair. The pains and aches of the battle she had just fought began to hit her. The weight of the belt that carried her belongings, feeling like they weighed a ton. Everything, including her body, beginning to feel much heavier than before.
In an attempt to make her body lighter, she took off the belt that sat around her waist. When she unwrapped the belt from around her, she hissed when the fabric brushed against her right side. Instinctively, her hand grasped the area. When she pulled her hand away, blood filled the palm of her hand, going all over her right arm.
“Crap,” She muttered.
Everything happened so quickly. She was standing at one moment and then the next she was laying flat on the ground amongst those who were declared dead. She could hear voices in the distance, but couldn’t make out the words. The familiar face of one of Eomer’s men hovered over her. His lips moved, but the more he spoke, the less she could hear. His voice was slowly replaced by the ringing in her ears. Her eyes growing heavier as the man spoke. Eventually, everything went black.

One of Eomer’s arms snaked its way around Y/N’s waist, pulling her into his side as they watched on. His lips pressing against her temple as the King started to get lost in the crowd.
“He’s going to make a great King.” Eomer murmured into her ear as she wrapped her arms around his midsection. Y/N hummed in agreement, nuzzling her face into his neck.
“As will you,” Y/N said quietly, a hint of sadness evident in her voice.
Eomer’s brows furrowed together, gently pulling away from her enough, so he could see her face better. Her once smiling face now held a hint of sorrow.
