Chapter 1: Olivia's Goodbye Letter To Kirby

Summary:

While looking at a loft apartment after walking away from Woodsboro, Olivia Morris (18) befriends her real estate agent. Arriving home from the arcade with Trevor laughing, Kirby finds an envelope with her name on it. Standing in front of the firehouse nervously, Olivia is greeted by two friendly faces. Finally opening up the envelope with shaky hands, Kirby begins to read the letter while Trevor gives her space to read. Lying in the middle of her empty loft, Olivia suddenly hears someone knocking on her door.

Notes:

Before anyone from the 9-1-1 fandom hates me, please don't. I only wrote this because it popped into my head while watching sad Edits of Buck. I do watch 9-1-1 with my mom.

First chapter of my brand new story called Walking Through Fire. This only took me so long to write because I wanted the first chapter to look good, but I think it looks bad.

I did get this story off Buck, but you know, make it a little worse.

People who don't watch 9-1-1, meet the show. I got many ways to torture Olivia with. Like Struck By Lightning and or shooting Trevor in the shoulder in protector in front of Kirby.

And I know that the first academy take longer in real life but I like to make Olivia seem smarter than she is.

Chapter One: Olivia's Goodbye Letter To Kirby

While looking at a loft apartment after walking away from Woodsboro, Olivia Morris (18) befriends her real estate agent. Arriving home from the arcade with Trevor laughing, Kirby finds an envelope with her name on it. Standing in front of the firehouse nervously, Olivia is greeted by two friendly faces. Finally opening up the envelope with shaky hands, Kirby begins to read the letter while Trevor gives her space to read. Lying in the middle of her empty loft, Olivia suddenly hears someone knocking on her door.

Might be my longest first chapter for a new story. I decided to add in 9-1-1 (The TV Series) because Buck knows how Olivia feels. Plus, I always wanted to add 9-1-1 into one of my stories.

Sitting on the hood of her brand new car with a broken look plastered on her face, Olivia watched as cars and people passed her by like there was no care in the world.

Leaving behind Woodsboro might help me out.  Even if it meant leaving behind everyone I loved. My neglectful parents can't hurt me here. Just as she was about to lie back on the hood of her car, Olivia heard someone clear their throat, causing the broken teenager to slowly turn her head toward the person.

"You wouldn't happen to be Olivia Morris. Would you?" Greg asked.

Slowly getting up from the hood of her car, Olivia nodded her head at Greg. "Yes, I am Olivia Morris. You must be Greg, my real estate agent,"

Greg nodded.

Shaking Greg's hand slowly, Olivia crossed her arms over her chest, trying her hardest not to think about the girl (Kirby Reed,18) she loved and cared deeply about.

"Are you ready to see the loft?" Greg asked. Slowly opening up the apartment door, Greg gave Olivia a friendly smile. "It's a really nice loft. I think you will love it,"

Olivia nodded. "Yeah, I am so hype to see the loft. But is it still going to be on the fourth floor? I like places with a nice view of the city,"

"It sure is, Olivia. Alright, time to see the loft of your dream,"

Giving Greg a small forced smile, Olivia finally walked inside the apartment building, still trying to keep her mind from wandering toward Kirby, whom she sadly had to leave behind in Woodsboro.

After riding the elevator up to the fourth floor of the apartment building, Olivia let Greg lead her toward the loft she might inserted in buying.

Walking inside the loft doors, Greg watches as Olivia finally walks in behind him after minutes of hesitation, causing the real estate agent to frown in confusion.

"Alright! When we first walk inside, this lovely loft is an amazing open space," Greg said. Placing his hands on his hips, Greg let out a small happy laugh. "Good thing it's only going to be you living here, though, because Lofts don't have any bedrooms,"

Olivia nodded as she looked around the loft before her eyes landed on the lovely kitchen, "Looks very lovely. And I love how the kitchen is connected to the living room. The two places I will most likely be in on my days off,"

"Yep! And that's not even the best part of this loft, Olivia. Nope! The best part is that you have two bathrooms. One by the front door, and the other one is right up those stairs, where you will put your bed,"

Olivia forced out a small laugh. That would have come in real handy with the boys. Those three were always running to the damn bathroom.

As Greg continued to show Olivia around the loft, the real estate agent failed to notice Olivia wiping away the tears that were falling down the side of her face.

"Now, as we walk up these lovely marble stairs. We are standing on the mezzanine where your bedroom will be," Greg said. Spinning around the space, Greg watched as Olivia looked over the metal railing. "You can fit a bed, a couch, and a desk up here. Sadly, you won't be getting in privacy when company is around,"

Olivia nodded. "I have the perfect plan for this space. Plus, I can still see the lovely view while lying in bed. Mostly crying like a baby,"

"Sure can! So, do you like it, Olivia?"

Olivia nodded.

As she and Greg walked down the stairs of the mezzanine, Olivia made her way over to the loft's huge windows, once again crossing her arms over her chest.

Greg frowned as he slowly made his way over toward Olivia's side, placing a hand onto the girl's shoulder while a small, concerned look formed on his face.

"You okay over here, Olivia? You're looking a little down," Greg said.

Olivia frowned as she watched cars drive by. "Yeah, I'm alright. Just thinking about someone I had to leave behind in my hometown. I couldn't bring her with me,"

"Wanna talk about it then? I'm a really good listener,"

Olivia sighed. I guess. But talking about the girl I love is only going to make me feel even worse than I already do.

"I had to leave behind a four-year relationship with this amazing girl," Olivia said. Walking away from Greg sadly, Olivia let out a small, broken sigh. "She's the love of my life and my best friend, but I had to let her go so she could be happy with someone else,"

Greg nodded, crossing his arms over his chest. "Why did you leave your hometown and your ex-girlfriend?"

"I'm damnged, Greg. I-I was able to keep it to myself for a few years, but I couldn't anymore. A-And I couldn't be the one to hurt her because I love her so much that I'm willing to let her hate me for the rest of our lives. Becuase that is better than me turning in the people who hate me,"

With that said, Olivia walked over toward the bathroom of the loft to grab some tissues to wipe away her tears from her eyes.

After she was finished wiping her eyes, Olivia walked out of the bathroom once again, letting out a small broken sigh, causing Greg to look at her sadly.

"So! Where do I pay for the loft, Greg?" Olivia asked.

Greg smiled. "I knew you would like it, my friend. Follow me, Olivia. I promise you are going to love it here because your neighbors are amazing,"

Nodding her head, Olivia followed Greg out of the loft with the same broken-up look she had on her face since she arrived in Los Angeles last night.

And hopefully, walking away from her hometown and her neglectful parents will be a good thing for Olivia because she couldn't be in that town any longer.

(A Few Hours Later. 329 Whispering Lane)

Slowly parking her car in the driveway of her house, Kirby turned off her car engine before she looked over at her brother Trevor Sheldon (18) with a small frown on her face.

Trevor frowned, watching as Kirby slowly removed her keys from the ignition switch, causing his brotherly ways to act up.

"You okay, Kirb?" Trevor asked.

Kirby sighed as she looked away from her brother sadly. "It's Olivia. She has been acting very strangely toward me lately. I mean, have you noticed, Trev?"

"Actually, I have noticed her change in her behavior. But I just thought it was because she didn't feel well. Do you think something is going on at home we don't know about?"

Kirby sadly shrugged her shoulders as she slowly got out of her car. I really hope nothing is going on with her. Maybe I should try calling her parents.

Getting out of Kirby's car, Trevor watched as the horror fan locked all of her car doors before she walked around it and over toward his side.

"I'm sure your girlfriend is fine, Sis. I mean, this is Olivia we're talking about right now," Trevor said. Wrapping an arm around Kirby's shoulder, Trevor placed a kiss on his sister's forehead. "She loves you, Kirb. She littlerly shows you nothing but respect,"

Looking down at the necklace Olivia brought her last year for their anniversary, Kirby smiled brightly to herself. "She does. She buys all these lovely gifts for no reason at all,"

"I know. She is starting to make me want to look for a job. But then again, I'm not ready for a job, nor is a job ready for me,"

Kirby laughed.

Playfully rolling his eyes at Kirby's laugh, Trevor patted his sister on the head, causing Kirby to playfully elbow him right in the ribcage.

Watching as Trevor doubled over in pain, Kirby leaned against her car, crossing her arms over her chest while Trevor coughed from time to time.

"Ohhhh! I officially can't wait to tell Olivia that I kicked your ass in every single arcade game," Trevor mumbled.

Kirby shook her head at her brother before she slapped him on the back of the head. "Hey! You didn't beat me at all the games,"

"Right! I forgot that you did beat me at that one golfing game. How are you so good at a sport everyone, including your own girlfriend, hates?"

Rolling her eyes at her brother, Kirby quickly places Trevor into a gentle headlock, causing the former football player to whine in confusion and shock.

Gently removing himself from Kirby's arms, Trevor quickly fixed his outfit before he looked over at his sister with a small "How the hell" look, causing Kirby to laugh a little.

"Can you even believe that the arcade even has a golfing game?" Kirby asked.

Trevor laughed. "Arcades have changed a lot throughout the years, Kirb. Hey, we might get something new and better in a year or two,"

"Maybe. Alright, let's finally head inside my house before people start thinking that we're dating again,"

Trevor nodded.

"You know I still can't believe people think we're dating," Kirby said.

Trevor shrugged his shoulders as he wrapped a protective arm around Kirby's shoulder. "People like to think random things about people. I'm surprised no one has started a damn rumor,"

"Protective siblings are the only thing we are to each other. And well, people know better than to start rumors about us,"

Trevor laughed. Ain't that the truth. I did out someone in the hosptial for a week because he talked about Kirby.

Walking toward her house, laughing about what she said to Trevor not that long ago, the first thing Kirby saw was an envelope resting underneath a rock in front of her door.

Walking over toward the envelope, Kirby slowly bent down in front of it before picking it up with a small, confused look on her face.

"Why is there an envelope in front of my door?" Kirby asked.

Trevor shrugged his shoulders as he walked closer toward Kirby. "I honestly have no glue, Kirb. Does it have the name of the person who sent it to you on the front of it?"

"No, just my name. So, it has to be from someone close to me,"

Trevor nodded.

Placing the envelope into her pants pocket, Kirby finally unlocked her front door before she walked inside the house, causing Trevor to follow her.

Walking inside her living room after placing her keys into the bowl by her front door, Kirby slowly shook her head before she tossed the envelope onto the coffee table while Trevor walked into her kitchen to grab them something to drink.

Kirby will read what was in the envelope once she and Trevor get settled in for the rest of the night.

(Another Hour Later. Back in Los Angeles)

Finally walking toward the Los Angeles Firehouse after spending the last hour staring at it nervously, Olivia was about to walk inside the building when she was suddenly greeted by two friendly faces.

Olivia frowned.

"Hey, we saw you staring at the firehouse like you need something," a female with glasses said. Holding out her hand for Olivia to shake, Hen gave the nervous-looking girl a warm smile. "My name is Henrietta Wilson, but all my friends call me Hen, and beside me is Evan Buckley, but he likes to be called Buck,"

Olivia nodded as she slowly shook Hen's hand. "Hey, my name is Olivia Morris, but I like to be called Liv by my friends. I'm 118's newest probationary fighter. I just moved here to Los Angeles last night,"

"Really!? But you look so young to be a firefighter," Buck said.

"Yeah! Yeah, that's because I'm 18. Seven months ago, I was able to graduate from High School, college, and the fire academy within three weeks. I took my ex-boyfriend's nickname to heart. Do you know where I can find Captain Bobby Nash? I was told to pick up my uniform for my shift tomorrow,"

Clearly still in shock from what Olivia told her and Buck, Hen slowly pointed over toward the latter truck, where their captain Bobby was chatting with his wife Athena Grant.

Watching as Olivia walked over toward Bobby and Athena nervously, Buck sadly crossed his arms over his chest before he looked over at Hen.

"Everything okay over there, Buckaroo?" Hen asked.

Buck frowned. "She's broken and damaged. She has that look deep in her eyes that she tries to hide from people,"

"And how would you know that, Buck?" Hen asked.

"Becuase I used to wear that same look when I was younger, Hen. And if she has that same look I had, then she might be suffering the same family rejection I had,"

With that said, Buck quickly walked inside the firehouse, wanting to catch up with Olivia and Bobby while Hen walked over toward Athena sadly.

And if Olivia manages to survive being a firefighter, then Buck might have to do what Bobby did for him when he first started at the 118.

(Back With Kirby and Trevor. Twenty Minutes Later)

Staring down at the envelope that was still resting on her coffee table, Kirby slowly picked up the envelope nervously while Trevor stood to the side so Kirby could read in peace.

Alright, here goes nothing. Time to see what is inside the envelope. Shaking away the negative thoughts from her head, Kirby finally opened up the envelope before she took the paper out of it.

"It's a letter, Trevor. And it's in Olivia's handwriting," Kirby said.

Trevor frowned, crossing his arms over his chest as a small frown formed on his face. "Read to see what the letter says, Kirb. And why Olivia would send you a letter instead of talking to you in person?"

Kirby nodded.

Letting out a small nervous sigh, Kirby finally started to read the letter Olivia wrote for her with a small frown slowly forming on her face.

"Dear Kirby:

If you're reading this letter, then it means that I'm no longer in Woodsboro. It means I have packed my things and left without alerting anyone. And before you ask yourself why I left Woodsboro. I just want you to know it has nothing to do with you or the others, I left because I had to leave before it's too late."

Frowning to himself, Trevor watched as Kirby slowly leaned back into the couch as a few tears escaped down the side of her face.

Kirby frowned. Why didn't she call me? I could have talked her down from leaving Woodsboro.

"The more I stayed in that house with those jerks, the more I felt myself turning into them. I don't want to be like them, Kirby. I can't hurt you or the others like they hurt me. Mainly you. You all mean everything to me and more.

I love you so damn much, Kirby Reed. You are the love of my life, but I can't stay in Woodsboro anymore. Me leaving Woodsboro will help the both of us. It will help keep me from turning into them while also keeping you safe from me. Kirby, you will always be the love of my life but we can't be together. At least until I know I won't turn into them.

Six months ago went online while in Woodsboro High's library and graduated from High school, college, and the fire academy within three weeks. Yes, you read that right me Olivia Morris, aka former Woodsboro High hot chick, is going to be a firefighter in Los Angeles. I spent the last six months getting ready while still loving and treating you like the queen you are."

Kirby frowned before she slowly covered her face with her hands as fresh tears began to spill from her eyes, clearly hurt from Olivia's letter.

Forcing himself not to rush over to his sister's side like he always would, Trevor watched as Kirby finally went back to reading the rest of Olivia's letter, sadly.

"All my life I spent wandering what I did to my parents to make them hate me. To make them not love me like parents should. I spent my entire life watching as everyone, including you and the others, had a blast with family while mine always let me down.

I was able to keep my pain to myself for years until six months ago, when I got into a fight with my parents. They hate me, so now they don't have to worry about me ruining their lives. I'm going to miss you and the others, Kirby. Leaving Woodsboro will help me out.

I know leaving Woodsboro without you will not only break your heart, but it will also make you hate me forever, but I would rather you hate me, Kirby, than me hurting you like my parents.

-With Love, Olivia Morris (PS: I hope that you and the others will be able to forgive me one day. I love you, Kirby. Please don't forget that)

After she was finished reading the rest of Olivia's goodbye letter, Kirby did the only thing she could think of at that exact moment.

She cried. Kirby cried as the letter slowly fell out of her shaky hands, causing Trevor to quickly rush over to his sister's side as he pulled the broken horror fan into his arms.

As he began to whisper calming words into Kirby's ear, Trevor looked down at the letter, sadly trying his hardest not to feel angry at his friend for hurting his sister.

(An Hour Later. Back in Los Angeles. Over at Olivia's Loft)

Lying in the middle of her very empty loft, Olivia let out a small, tearful sigh just as someone started to knock on her door unexpectedly.

Sloely getting up from the middle of her loft floor with a broken look on her face, Olivia walked over to her loft door before she opened it, revealing a smiling Even "Buck" Buckley on the other side with a gift in his hands.

"Well, hello there, new neighbor of mine," Buck said.

Olivia frowned. "Buck! What are you doing here? Actually, more importantly, how did you know where I lived? We only met like an hour ago at the firehouse,"

"I actually live three doors down from you, Olivia. So, I thought I would bring you over a little house-warming gift to get you started with your loft,"

Olivia nodded.

Walking inside Olivia's loft happily, Buck handed the gift over to the broken teenager before he looked around the loft while Olivia closed the door, shaking her head.

"Looks like you need to go on a little shopping spree for your loft," Buck said.

Olivia sighed as she looked down at the gift in her hands. "Let me guess here. Are you going to take me on a shopping spree for my loft, Buck?"

"Yes! But I'm not the only one who wants to take you shopping for your loft. The entire team wants to take you shopping for your loft as a small welcome to the 118,"

Before she could utter a word to Buck, Olivia watched as Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash, Howard "Chimney" Han, Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz, Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, and Athena Grant walked inside her loft carrying gifts of their own.

Olivia frowned.

"Alright, you can open all of these gifts once we get back shopping," Hen said.

Olivia whined, watching as Hen grabbed her keys from off the kitchen counter. "But I have to get some sleep for my first day at the firehouse. Can't we go sh-Wahhhh,"

Olivia wasn't able to finish her sentence when both Hen and Athena grabbed her and pulled her out of the loft while Bobby and the others walked out of the loft laughing to themselves.

Looks like Olivia will have to lie in the middle of her loft once she returns home from her shopping spree with her workmates and their captain's wife.

And hopefully, while sheis out shopping with her workmates, Olivia doesn't start thinking of Kirby like she has been since she left Woodsoro yesterday.

Chapter Two: Olivia's First Day As A Firefighter

Watching as Olivia walked away from the dining table, Buck noticed something lying on the ground where Olivia once stood. While punching a punching bag, Eddie finds Buck staring over at Olivia. Walking into her daughter's bedroom after arriving home, Dani sits down next to the horror fans on the bed. After gently doing a turning kit on Lisa's leg, Olivia begins to work on bandaging the librarian's leg while Bobby watches her closely. Sitting down next to Olivia at the dining table, Buck slowly slides the probationary firefighter over the picture he found.

Only been on the job for a few hours, and Olivia has already made Bobby proud. And like always, I give to you all yet another sucky chapter introduction. PS: Here are some more worried Buck Moments.

Parking his car beside Eddie's truck with a small frown plastered on his face, Buck got out of his car before he grabbed his workbag from the passenger side of his car, just as Bobby walked over toward him

Placing his workbag onto his left shoulder, Buck waved at his captain/father figure before he made his way toward the firehouse just as Hen and Chimney pulled into the driveway.

"Well, good morning, firefam," Olivia said. Sliding the mop bucket away from her, Olivia gave her workmates a warm, forced smile. "Get dressed because I made everyone breakfrest,"

Buck smiled as he happily walked over to Olivia's side. "You did not have to make us breakfrest, Olivia. How long have you been at the fire station?"

"I couldn't sleep due to uh nerves. So, I decided to come here and make you all some breakfrest. Which is currently being eaten by Eddie as we speak. Might wanna hurry before he eats everything,"

With that said, Olivia walked up the stairs leading toward the upper level of the firehouse while Buck and the others rushed over toward their lockers to get dressed.

After getting dressed in his uniform, Buck rushed upstairs while Bobby, Hen, and Chimney followed behind him, causing Eddie to wave at them with a piece of bacon in his mouth.

Once Buck and the others were seated at the dining table, Olivia poured Bobby a cup of coffee before she placed some creamer and sugar in the middle of the table, as well as the coffee pot for anyone who wanted any.

"I made eggs, bacon, toast, omelets, sausage, pancakes, and even waffles. And I forgot to ask if anyone was vegan," Olivia said. Pointing toward the counter after grabbing some Orange juice from the fridge, Olivia placed the glass of orange juice in the middle of the table. "But I just went ahead and made a vegan breakfrest as well. Gotta feed all of my colleagues,"

Chimney nodded as he grabbed a piece of toast from the plate. "Wow! This all looks amazing, Olivia. Where and where did you learn how to cook, though?"

"I actually thought myself to cook, Chimney. I had to learn how to cook at a very young age. Wait! C-Can I call you Chimney?"

Buck frowned, noticing the panicked look in Olivia's eyes while Chimney nodded his head, taking a bite of his toast. Why did she have to learn how to cook at a young age? And why did she panic when she thought she wasn't allowed to call Chim Chimney?

While Bobby and the others began to eat their breakfrest, Olivia walked over to the kitchen island to grab some napkins for everyone.

"Hey, Captain. I was able to clean the bathroom, mop all of the floors," Olivia said. Placing the napkins onto the table, Olivia finally stood next to Buck."I cleaned the firetruck and ambulance. And put away all of the dishes as well,"

Slowly talking in everything Olivia just told him, Bobby stared at her in complete shock. "Thank you for doing all of that, Olivia. But you didn't have to do all of that,"

"Oh! I-I'm sorry, Captain Nash. I thought that was part of being a probationary firefighter. I'm sorry,"

Bobby frowned.

Sharing a quick look with Buck and the others, Bobby slowly pulled out a chair for Olivia to sit down in, only for the probationary firefighter to frown in confusion.

"Yes, that is part of being a probationary firefighter, Olivia. You did everything right. You don't have to apologize for anything," Bobby said. Taking a drink of his coffee, Bobby gave Olivia a warm and friendly smile. "But you also didn't have to do it altogether. You don't have to rush at this job. Okay! Just take it slow and ask me and the others any questions that need answers,"

Olivia nodded. "Thank you for the advice, Captain Nash. I will try to remember it for tomorrow,"

"Good! Captain Nash is for the field, Olivia. At the firehouse, you can call me Bobby. Now, why don't you come have some breakfast with me and the others?" Bobby said. "You must be hungry after all of that cleaning and cooking you did for us,"

"That's okay, Bobby. I'm not hungry right now, but I will eat with you all at dinner,"

With that said, Olivia quickly walked away from the dining table, not realizing that a picture had fallen out of her pants pocket.

Watching as Olivia walked away from the dining table, Buck noticed that a picture was now lying in the spot Olivia had once stood minutes ago.

Picking up the picture with a small frown on his face, Buck slowly stared down at the picture while Bobby and the others went back to eating, clearly very worried about Olivia, but Buck only had one thing running through his head.

Who was the girl Olivia was with in this picture?

(A Few Hours Later. Still at the firehouse)

While punching a punching bag in the gym part of the firehouse, Eddie finally noticed that Buck was sitting on one of the training benches watching as Olivia took notes while Hen educated her about everything in the ambulance.

Eddie sighed as he stopped the punching bag, slowly shaking his head at his best friend.

"What's on your mind, Buck? You have been off since breakfrest," Eddie said. Crossing his arms over his chest, Eddie watched as Buck looked over at him. "Does it have something to do with the new probie?"

Buck sighed. "Yes, it has something to do with Olivia, Eddie. I'm very worried about her, I mean she looked terrified at breakfrest,"

"She is probably just nervous about working here, Buck. People do get nervous and terrified about working in a place like this, and let's not forget she is working a very dangerous job at a young age,"

Getting up from the practice bench, Buck let out a small worried groan as he slowly crossed his arms over his chest while Eddie contuined to stand beside the punching bag.

Angrily punching one of the punching bags, Buck leaned against the wall before he went back to looking over at Olivia.

"That's the thing, Eddie. She wasn't just nervous. She was scared," Buck said. Watching as Olivia helped Hen put everything back in the ambulance, Buck ran a hand through his hair as he let out a small worried sigh. "She was scared, Eddie. She literally thought Bobby was upset with her. I think she thought he was going to hit her or something,"

Eddie signed. "Buck, I think you're just overthinking this. I'm sure Olivia is fine and only nervous about the job,"

"Or maybe she has something serious happening in her life, Eddie. And I think I know exactly what. I'm going to talk to Maddie about this after our shift,"

With that said Buck shook his head at his best friend before he walked away from Eddie just as the alarm went off, causing Buck to freeze in his tracks.

Eddie sighed. Why is Buck so worried about Olivia? She looks fine to me and all. She was literally laughing with Hen only moments ago.

"Alright, Olivia, looks like you're getting your first field assignment," Bobby said.

Olivia frowned as Hen rushed over toward the ambulance while Buck grabbed her hand, leading her toward the firetruck. "Really?! But I just started a few hours ago, Captain N- I mean Bobby,"

"That may be correct, Olivia, but Probationary firefighters are allowed on the field to help them learn. So, are you ready to learn more, Olivia?"

Olivia nodded.

After helping Olivia inside the firetruck, Buck placed one of the headsets on the girl's head while Eddie, Chimney, and Bobby got into the truck right after them.

Time for Olivia to show everyone everything she has learnt so far.

(The Reed household. Inside Kirby's Bedroom)

Walking inside her daughter's bedroom after finally getting off work, the first thing Dani saw was Kirby sitting on the edge of her bed staring down at the letter Olivia wrote to her.

"Mom, why would Olivia be scared of hurting me?" Kirby asked.

Dani frowned as she slowly sat down next to Kirby on the bed before she wrapped an arm around the heartbroken horror fan. "I thought she covered that in the letter, sweetpea. I thought she covered that in all of the letters she wrote,"

"She did. I'm just confused about why she w- I'm sorry you knew she was going to write me a goodbye letter?"

Dani nodded.

Shaking her head at her mother, Kirby slowly removed herself from Dani's arms before she got up from the bed, causing the nurse to frown.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner, Mom? I could have stopped her from leaving me," Kirby said.

Dani nodded. "For that reason right there, Kirby. Olivia needed to leave Woodsboro behind, and she couldn't bring you with her. She doesn't want to hurt you, Kirby, and hopefully one day you will finally see that,"

"She did hurt me, Mom. She dumped me over a letter instead of doing it in person," Kirby said. "I thought what we had was forever, but she had to shatter my heart. I hate her,"

"She does love you, Kirby, but she couldn't risk turning into her parents. She couldn't risk hurting you or the others. And she already said in the letter that she knew it would break your heart by leaving and that you would hate her, but she would rather you hate her than she hurt the people she cares deeply about,"

Kirby frowned.

"But why would she become a firefighter in Los Angeles?" Kirby asked.

Dani shrugged. "Maybe it will help k- I'm sorry she became a what now?"

"A firefighter. She was able to graduate from high school, college, and the fire academy all in three weeks, six months ago," Kirby said. "Why do you sound so surprised, Mom? You didn't know she was a firefighter?"

"Uhhh! No, she never mentioned that to me or the other parents. Speaking of parents, I need to talk to Kate about a very important question. Love you,"

With that said, Dani jetted out of Kirby's bedroom before she jumped down the stairs and ran straight out of the front door with a panicked look slowly forming on her face.

Snapping out of her shock from her mom's outburst, Kirby slowly grabbed one of the pictures of her and Olivia from her nightstand before she hugged it close to her chest as she flopped onto her bed.

(Back with Olivia and The 118)

"Alright! Chimney, Hen, and Eddie, I want you three to go check the people in the other vehicle," Bobby said. Gesturing for Hen to toss him the spare medical bag, Bobby caught it before he placed it around Buck's shoulder. "Buck and Olivia, you two will be with me. Olivia, are you ready to sit back and learn?"

Olivia nodded. "Yes, Captain. You and Buck will have my full attention,"

"That's something I like to hear, Olivia. Looks like someone was able to help the person in the other car out of hers. Time to get to work,"

Buck and Olivia nodded.

Walking over to the girl's side, Bobby gently bent down next to Lisa's side while Buck slowly removed the medical bag from his shoulder, as Olivia took out her notepad just in case she needed to take notes.

As Bobby talked to Lisa about staying awake for him, Olivia finally saw the damage done to her favorite librarian's legs, causing the probationary firefighter to gently elbow Buck in the side, causing the latter to look at her while Olivia pointed at Lisa's leg.

"Look," Olivia said.

After his eyes landed on what Olivia was pointing at, Buck quickly bent down beside Bobby. "Uhh! Cap, Olivia noticed that the patient's leg is badly bleeding,"

After hearing that leave Buck's mouth, Bobby quickly looked down at Lisa's leg, causing the captain of the 118 firehouse to use the scissors to cut Lisa's leg, revealing a very deep-looking cut.

Grabbing everything he needed to do a turning-kit to stop the bleeding, Bobby looked over toward Olivia with a small, certain look forming on his face.

"Quick question, Olivia. Do you know what a turning kit is?" Bobby said.

Olivia nodded. "I do. A turning kit is a device that is used to apply pressure to a limb or extremity in order to create ischemia, or stopping the flow of blood,"

"Correct! Keep answering like that, and you will keep making me proud. Now, do you know how to do one?" Bobby said. Watching as Olivia nodded his head, Bobby gestured toward the spot beside him. "Good! Good, then you can be the one to do it on Lisa's leg. Don't worry, I'm going to be watching you closely,"

Oliva nodded as she slowly moved to stand next to Bobby before she bent down next to the fire captain, who handed her everything she needed for the turning kit.

After successfully doing the turning kit on Lisa's leg, Olivia slowly and gently began to work on bandaging her favortie librarian's leg while Bobby watched her closely with a proud look on his face, only Buck saw.

Once Olivia was finished bandaging Lisa's leg, Bobby ordered for a gurney while Buck happily patted Olivia on the shoulder as they walked back toward the firetruck.

Olivia might have been the first to ever make Bobby Nash proud on their first day on the job.

(An Hour Later. Back At The Firehouse)

Walking toward the dining area of the firehouse after failing to find Olivia anywhere on the lower part of the house, Buck saw the probationary firefighter staring deeply into a cup of coffee.

Buck frowned.

"You okay over here, Olivia?" Buck asked.

Jumping at the sound of Buck's voice, Olivia jumped a little bit in her seat before she looked over at Buck with a small frown on her face. "Oh, hey, Buck. Yeah, I'm okay, just thinking about something,"

"Thinking about something or a special someone?"

Olivia frowned. Oh god! Am I really that easy to read when I'm sad or upset? Gosh, only know him for a day, and he can already read me.

Finally sitting down next to Olivia at the dining table, Buck slowly slides the probationary firefighter over the picture he found this morning, causing Olivia to frown as she picks up the picture.

"Where did you find this, Buck? I have been looking around for this since this morning," Olivia said.

Buck frowned. "You dropped it when you took off at breakfrest. I just forgot to give it back to you until now. Who's that girl with you in the picture, Liv?"

"My ex-girlfriend. Can I talk to you about her later though, Buck? Talking about her still hurts epically when I was the one who broke her heart,"

Buck nodded.

Downing the rest of her coffee, letting out a small broken sigh, Olivia finally got up from the chair she was sitting in before she walked over toward the kitchen sink to start on the dishes and dinner for the 118.

Watching as Olivia did the dishes with a broken look forming on her face, Buck slowly frowned to himself as he slowly leaned back into his chair at the dining table with only one thing running through his mind.

He needs to talk to Maddie.

Let me know what you think of this chapter.

Chapter 3: Maddie's Emtional Talk With Olivia

Summary:

While trying to learn more about Firehouse 118 with Trevor, Kirby finds herself worrying about the safety of her ex-girlfriend. Just as she was about to leave work, Maddie gets a surprising call from her brother Buck. Standing alone on her balcony, Kirby's mind slowly wanders off toward her and Olivia's first kiss. Placing a bag of frozen peas onto her right eye, Olivia suddenly hears a gentle knock on her apartment door. Sitting next to Olivia on the couch, Maddie learns why the broken teenager decided to leave her hometown.

Notes:

⚠ Warning: Olivia's back story ⚠ I wanna cry now.

Second-longest chapter only becuase of the ending for this chapter. The next chapter hopefully won't be so long.

I tried to describe everything correctly at the beginning and the stuff about Daniel, but I learnt that if it's not Scream 4, I will have to look things up from time to time becuase I can't memorize it. And I watch 9-1-1 with my mom a lot.

Maddie is here, and we got a Buckley Sibling phone call. I love me some Buckley siblings moments.

Poor Kirby and you know Olivia, who was punched in the face by a Kangaroo.

When should Kirby decide to head to LA? Should it be a Reed-Prescott Moment, or should Tatum talk to her?

Rachel and Zander (I would never use Julie's for something like this) Morris will be appearing in LA very soon.

Sprry for the late update. I have been busy and I wasn't really feeling well.

PS: The Buckley parents are still somewhat on my bad side, I just can't word stuff correctly when its not Scream 4. And I know I did rephase what Buck said in the show.

Chapter Three: Maddie's Emtional Talk With Olivia

While trying to learn more about Firehouse 118 with Trevor, Kirby finds herself worrying about the safety of her ex-girlfriend. Just as she was about to leave work, Maddie gets a surprising call from her brother Buck. Standing alone on her balcony, Kirby's mind slowly wanders off toward her and Olivia's first kiss. Placing a bag of frozen peas onto her right eye, Olivia suddenly hears a gentle knock on her apartment door. Sitting next to Olivia on the couch, Maddie learns why the broken teenager decided to leave her hometown.

Brought my girl Maddie into the story a chapter early. And now she is the only one (other than Buck) to know everything about Olivia. And like always, I give to you all yet another sucky chapter introduction. Second long chapter only becuase of the ending.

Walking into Kirby's bedroom after the horror fan failed to answer any of his calls, the first thing Trevor saw was Kirby sitting on the edge of her bed, staring over at her computer.

Slowly closing Kirby's bedroom door, Trevor made his way over toward Kirby's desk chair before he sat down in it, slowly crossing his arms over his chest.

"Whatya doing, Sis?" Trevor asked.

Kirby sighed as she slowly looked over toward Trevor, sadly. "Debating if I should do some research about firefighters in Los Angeles. And you know, just got done sobbing for several hours,"

"Why?" Trevor asked. "How will that help you get over Olivia, Sis?"

"Becuase I want to make sure Olivia will at least be okay, Trev. I mean, Firefighting is a really dangerous job,"

Trevor nodded.

Getting up from her bed slowly, Kirby walked over toward her desk, causing Trevor to quickly get up from her desk chair just in case Kirby wanted to sit down.

Slowly opening up her laptop, Kirby put in the password to it before she sat down in her desk chair while Trevor stood behind her.

"Alright! Time to learn more about the Los Angeles firefighters," Kirby said.

Trevor nodded, watching as Kirby began to type away at her computer. "Shouldn't I be trying to keep your mind off Olivia, Sis? So you don't end up crying again,"

"Technically, yes, you are. But I'm only doing this to make sure Olivia is going to be okay. Look, she may have shattered my heart yesterday, but I still want her to be okay,"

Shaking his head at Kirby, Trevor once again crossed his arms over his chest before he looked over at the picture of himself, Olivia, and Kirby outside Woodsboro High that Kirby kept on her desk.

As she contuined to stroll through the internet, Kirby frowned as she slowly leaned back into her desk chair, as she let out a small deflated sigh.

"I'm mostly seeing articles about the 118. Which is a firehouse in Los Angeles," Kirby said. Slowly turning her desk chair around, Kirby looked up at Trevor sadly. "Should we click on one of them, Trev?

Trevor nodded, which caused Kirby to turn back around to face her computer. "Yeah! Yeah, let's why the 118 is very talked about back in Los Angeles,"

Kirby nodded as she clicked on the very first article about the 118 with a small frown slowly forming on her face once again.

As she began to scan the entire article while Trevor read it from behind her, Kirby whined when she read the words "Explosion" and "Crushed Leg" over and over in her head.

"This article is about one of the firetrucks from the 118 exploding due to a bomb being planted in it," Kirby said. Placing her hands onto her neck, Kirby let out a small whine of fear. "Evan Buckley's leg was crushed underneath said truck. He had to get rods and screws placed into his leg to stabilize it,"

Trevor frowned. "He only got rods and screws?!! He should have lost that leg since a firetruck weighs a fucking ton,"

"Do you think that could happen to Olivia?" Kirby asked.

"Depends. But then again why should we care, Kirb? She broke your heart yesterday by dumping you by letter,"

Ignoring Trevor's protectiveness, Kirby clicked onto the next article about Evan Buckley, which caused Kirby to frown as she began to scan it.

"This article talks about how this Evan guy took his best friend's son to the Santa Monica Pier," Kirby said. Shaking her head sadly to herself, Kirby slowly began to tear up. "To spend some time together when a tsamusi hits the pier. Buck protected the kid the best he could, but ended up losing him for a while. They both survived,"

Trevor slowly raised an eyebrow at everything Kirby read. "Poor guy. I just know he blamed himself after it was all over,"

Kirby nodded.

Clicking off and onto a new article, trying not to lose her mind, Kirby began to read the new article while Trevor bent down to her left side so he could read the articles better.

"This Edmundo guy was shot in the shoulder by a sniper after saving a kid who was being poisoned by his mother," Trevor said. Placing a hand on Kirby's shoulder, Trevor continues to read the article. "He was shot in front of Evan Buckley. Okay! Why is this Evan guy everywhere?"

Kirby shrugged. "He survived, but he began to have panic attacks from the shooting,"

"That's understandable. Your dad had PTSD for months after he was shot twice in the chest. Poor guy couldn't go to work until he had it handled,"

Wow! Thanks for reminding me of that, Trev. I better not lose Olivia like that. Shaking her head, trying to ignore Trevor's words, Kirby clicked on the next article about Howard Han, which only caused Kirby to worry even more about Olivia's safety the moment she read the word "Rebar" over and over in her head.

This might be a very long day for both Trevor and Kirby.

(Two Hours Later. Back in Los Angeles)

After finishing up another successful call to end her work day, Maddie slowly leaned back into her chair before she removed her earpiece from her ear, just as her phone began to ring.

Taking out her phone as she quickly rushed inside the breakroom so she wouldn't disturb anyone's calls, Maddie looked down at the caller's ID only to shake her head the moment she saw Buck's name.

I had a feeling Buck was going to call me, but I didn't think it would be now. Letting out a small laugh of glee, Maddie finally answered Buck's call before she placed her phone against her left ear.

"Hey, Buck. Are you and Chimney off yet?" Maddie said.

"We were meant to get off two hours ago, but your guy decided to say the q-word," Buck said. "And now we have been rushing in and out of the firehouse like crazy. Right now, we're trying to help animal control with a kangaroo,"

"Then why are you calling, Buckaroo? Shouldn't you be forcing on work,"

From the other end of the phone line, Maddie heard Buck let out a small nervous sigh, causing the dispatcher to frown worriedly to herself.

Sitting down in one of the chairs in the break room, Maddie slowly leaned back into the chair as her sisterly instincts started to kick in.

"What's wrong, Buck?" Maddie asked.

"You know me so well, Sis. Listen, I need your help with someone," Buck said. "Yesterday, the 118 got a new Firefighter, but she didn't officially start until today,"

Maddie smiled. "You guys did. What's their name?"

"Her name is Olivia Morris. She moved here yesterday after leaving behind her hometown and everyone she loved, but she doesn't want to tell anyone why,"

Maddie frowned as she ran a hand through her hair. Something bad must have happened to her if she left her hometown and everyone she loved.

Getting up from the chair she was sitting in, Maddie began to pace around the break room, trying her hardest not to break down for Olivia.

"Alright! Tell me more, Olivia, Buck? Maybe I can figure out what's going on with her for you guys," Maddie said.

"She's broken, Maddie. And from the look she has in her eyes, I'm guessing she has been for a while," Buck said. "She's only eighteen, Maddie. And she looks so broken and lost, but she tries to hide it from me and the others,"

Maddie frowned as she slowly stopped pacing around the break room. Eighteen! And she chose to be a firefighter? Something must be terribly wrong back in her hometown.

"Maddie, this morning at breakfrest when Bobby was trying to tell her that she didn't need to rush things, Olivia thought he was upset with her," Buck said. "I swear I saw fear flash in her eyes, Maddie. It's like she thought he w-,"

Cutting Buck off without realizing, Maddie sighed sadly as she placed a hand on her hip. "Going to hit her. Fuck! Okay, text me Olivia's address because I know what's wrong,"

"She lives three doors down from my apartment. The team, Athena, and I took her shopping for her loft yesterday. OHHH, SHIT! Hey, Sis, I gotta go now, Olivia just got punched by the kangaroo, and now she's just standing there frozen. OHHH! Never mind, he punched her again, and now she's outcold,"

Maddie nodded. Poor, Olivia. She is going to be sore for a few days or a week.

After saying goodbye to Buck, Maddie slowly let her phone fall out of her hand as she tried her hardest not to cry for Olivia, whom she also really wants to hug.

But deep down, Maddie knows that having a talk with Olivia will bring back some painful memories of Doug.

(Back in Woodsboro. The Reed Household. An Hour Later)

Rushing inside the hosptial after getting a call from Trevor about Olivia's wellbeing, the first thing Kirby saw was Olivia sitting alone in the waiting room of the hosptial with her arm resting in a sling.

Walking over to Olivia's side worriedly, Kirby slowly sat down next to her, clearly distracted girlfriend causing Olivia to finally look at her.

"You okay, Livie?" Kirby asked.

Olivia nodded, giving Kirby a warm and loving smile even know she was secretly hurting inside. "Yeah, I'm alright, Buttercup. The pain stopped minutes ago. Now, it's numb and itchy,"

"Is it broken, Livie?" Kirby asked. "How long do you have to wear the sling for?"

"Sadly, yes, it's broken. And I will have to wear the sling for a few days, but I'm stuck with this damn cast for six to eight weeks. Good thing I don't play sports like Trevor. Which is how I got into this situation. I froze when I saw him running at me, and I woke up to Trevor sobbing like a baby,"

Kirby nodded. Now, why would Olivia freeze? I thought she knew how to play football since Trevor tried to teach us all.

Slowly getting up from the chair she was sitting on, Olivia looked over at Kirby with a small frown slowly forming on her face.

Before she was able to ask Olivia what was wrong, Kirby suddenly felt her girlfriend's lips onto hers, causing the fan to slowly smile happily into the surprise kiss.

Finally pulling away from her girlfriend, Kirby gave Olivia a small, dazed look, causing Olivia to laugh a little at her girlfriend's face.

"Just remembered that we never kissed. Now we have," Olivia said.

Kirby laughed as she let Olivia lead her out of the hosptial. "And you choose to kiss me in the middle of the hosptial, Babe? You couldn't have waited until I dropped you off?"

"Nope! I wanted to surprise you and I was very successful,"

Kirby nodded.

If only Kirby knew that Olivia was only telling her half of the truth instead of the whole truth, like they had promised each other.

Snapping out of her train of thought the moment she felt someone place a hand onto her right shoulder, Kirby unexpectedly slammed her elbow right into the intruder's chest, causing Trevor to cough in pain.

Trevor coughed, falling to the ground while Robbie and the others slowly backed away from the horror fan.

"Shit! I'm so sorry, Trev. I wasn't trying to take you out like that," Kirby said. Helping her coughing brother up from the ground, Kirby looked over at Robbie and the others. "Wait! How the hell did you even get inside my house if I made sure all of the doors were locked? I wanted to cry in peace, it's not weird, shut up,"

Trevor contuined to cough. "Your parents gave me a key, Kirb. Kind of regretting having one now. Next time, Charlie or Robbie is snapping you out of thoughts,"

"We were worried about you, Kirby. You didn't show up for school today, nor did you message any of us. Are you okay?" Valerie said.

"Noooo! It's not like I'm dealing with a damn break-up right now, Morgan. It's not like my heart was shattered by the one girl who I thought would never break it,"

With that said, Kirby angrily pushed past both Jill and Valerie before she walked over toward her bed, causing her friends to frown in worry while Trevor contuined to try to stop coughing.

Grabbing one of her pillows from off the bed, Kirby fell onto it before she ordered Jill and the others out of her house using only hand movements.

"I think she wants us to leave," Jill said.

"Nooooo! She wants us to stay and bother her, Babe. *Cough* Can someone take me for a check-up?" Trevor mumbled.

"Come on, Babe. I will take you to see Hannah or Dave before Kirby tosses something at us angrily. Ouch! Never mind. Great, now I need a check up,"

Angrily groaning to herself, Kirby tossed another pillow at Jill before she covered herself up with her blanket, causing her friends to rush out of the room, not wanting to be hit with anything hard or sharp.

Maybe they will have Sidney or Tatum check on Kirby next time.

(Back In Los Angeles. Inside Olivia's Loft)

Slowly closing her freezer door with a small frown on her face, Olivia let out a small broken-up sigh before she placed the frozen bag of peas on her right eye, just as she heard a gentle knock on her apartment door.

I thought Buck was going home to sleep. Who would be at my door right now? Crap, has Kirby and the others found me yet? Gently shaking away the thoughts from her head, Olivia finally walked toward her door before she opened it, revealing an unfamiliar face.

"Hey, my name is Maddie Buckley," Maddie said.

Olivia nodded. "Buck's older sister. He talks about you all the time when he helps me around the firehouse. Actually, so does Chimney, but not the same,"

"That would be because I'm happily married to Chimney," Maddie said. "Hey, listen. Can we talk for a few minutes, Olivia?"

"Sure! Come on in, Maddie. Uhhh! Don't ask me why I have frozen peas on my eye, I would like not to remember,"

Maddie nodded.

Once Maddie walked inside her apartment, Olivia slowly closed the door before she turned around, only to find Maddie waiting for her by the bathroom, but this time she had a picture in her hand, causing Olivia to sigh sadly.

I really gotta tape that picture down or buy myself a wallet. Looking down at her feet sadly, Olivia made her way over toward her couch that Eddie brought her before she collapsed onto it, removing the frozen peas from her right eye.

"I'm guessing Buck asked you to come talk to me," Olivia said.

Maddie nodded as she walked over toward Olivia with a small frown on her face. "He was able to pick up on you being broken when you two first met yesterday. Only because he had the same look you have when he was younger,"

"Let me guess, do Buck and you have neglectful parents?"

Maddie nodded. Only our parents are trying to fix their mistakes.

Sitting down next to Olivia on the couch, Maddie placed the picture onto the coffee table, causing Olivia to look at it sadly as a few tears escaped down her cheeks.

"Buck and I had a brother who died from juvenile leukemia. His name was Daniel, and he was only a year younger than me," Maddie said. Trying to keep her tears at bay, Maddie slowly looked down at her hands. "Really wanting to save Daniel, our parents decided to have Buck as a savior child, but sadly, Daniel still died. And instead of being there for their remaining children, Buck and I had to fend for ourselves. The only time they would pay attention to Buck was when he was hurt or whenever we touched something that was Daniel's. They also forced me to keep the fact that we had a brother from Buck. So, yes, mine and Buck's parents were neglectful toward us, but we eventually forgave them since they are trying to make attends,"

Olivia frowned. "Why did you guys forgive them?"

"Honestly, I think both Buck and I only forgive them becuase we didn't want to feel angry toward them anymore. And they have tried to show us that they care now, especially after Buck was struck by lightning and placed in a coma,"

Olivia nodded.

"When I was four, I accidently broke my grandma's favorite vase after I ran away from my grandpa laughing," Olivia said. Slowly leaning back into her couch, Olivia crossed her arms over her chest. "My grandma wasn't upset at me since I was a little kid. But once my parents and I returned home, my mom decided to yell at me to the point where I was in tears. They stopped when Kate Roberts walked into the house with my best friend Jill behind her,"

Maddie nodded but chose not to say anything so Olivia could continue talking, knowing that it was something that she needed to get off her chest.

"I was five when my parents decided to leave me home alone becuase they needed a break from me," Olivia said. Looking at Maddie sadly, Olivia noticed that the oldest Buckley had tears of her own. "I was close to not being where I am now becuase my dad decided to leave his gun out. And me being five, I didn't know what it was, so I picked it up, and if Damon Roberts didn't come running and take the gun from me, I would have shot myself,"

Maddie nodded.

Slowly getting up from her couch, Olivia contuined to tell Maddie about her parents' neglectful ways as she began to pace angrily around her living room.

"I was only ten when I learnt that I was highly allergic to Thyme, Kosher salt, and shellfish when I accidentally ordered a meal with those things in it," Olivia said. Finally stopping herself from pacing, Olivia placed her hands on her hips, "I was nine when I had to learn how to cook for myself becuase they were busy, not caring about me. Only eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen when I broke my arm, but they didn't show up at the hosptial. No! My friend's parents and Kirby one time did,"

Maddie nodded as she slowly got up from the couch before she made her way over toward Olivia. "Olivia has your pare-,"

"Ever hit me? Yes! Yes, they did. You know what's sad, whenever I was dating any of my exes, I made sure that I did everything they wanted becuase I was terrified of them hurting me. But none of them did; all four of them loved me and I loved them. I left behind a four-year relationship with the girl in the picture becuase I felt myself turning into them, Maddie. Becuase I couldn't hurt her like they hurt me. I spent years walking through fire becuase of them, but I hid my pain from my friends until I couldn't anymore,"

Maddie nodded.

Noticing that Olivia was starting to shake as tears poured out of her eyes, Maddie did the only thing she could think of at the moment.

She hugged her. Maddie hugged Olivia tightly, causing the broken teenager to slowly hug her back as she finally broke down into tears, placing her head into Maddie's shoulder.

"Shh! I'm here, Olivia. You're parents won't be able to hurt you anymore," Maddie whispered. "Me, Buck, and the 118 will happily make sure of that. Not every parent is perfect, Liv, and hopefully one day you will see that,"

With that said, Maddie contuined to talk to Olivia in hopes of calming the broken teenager down as she tried to keep her own tears at bay knowing Olivia needed her to be strong.

But what Maddie or Olivia didn't know was that Buck was listening to their entire convsatation with tears of his own falling down his face.

Looks like Buck finally realized why he sees himself in Olivia and why he has the urge to protect her, like how Maddie protected him.

Let me know what you think of this chapter.

Up Next: One more chapter of this

Chapter 4: Buck Throws Olivia A Surpise Party

Summary:

After his talk with Olivia at the lockers, Buck leads the damaged firefighter up to the upper level of the firehouse happily. Watching as Olivia lets the kids open her gifts, Athena shows Maddie some papers about Olivia with a frown on her face. Sitting down next to Olivia on the firetruck, Bobby watches as the firefighter plays with the ring on her hand. After cutting everyone a piece of cake, Olivia is suddenly met with a piece of cake to her face. Watching as Olivia chases Buck and Maddie around, Bobby smiles, happy to see his newest firefighter having fun.

Notes:

I'm sorry for how late I keep updating. I tried to get this out yesterday, but I had a really bad anxiety attack, and it's drained me for the rest of the day. I will try to make sure I don't update super late with Struck By Lightning.

Olivia still has the black eye from the kangaroo....I didn't want anyone to address it yet.

Olivia finally met the families of the 118. I promise I will add Denny, May, Harry, and Mara officially after the next chapter. I wasn't trying to make this chapter really long.

More Buck and Olivia moments. And some Maddie and Olivia as well.
We have the really bad Bobby and Olivia talk. I honestly gave up on their talk, but we will also be getting more soon.

Who's ready for the Kirby chapter?

I love the bond Chris and Buck have, and I'm going to try my best to write it into this story.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Four: Buck Throws Olivia A Surpise Party

The next chapter will be all about Kirby, just like how this chapter was all about Olivia. And like always, I give to you all yet another sucky chapter introduction.

Rushing inside the firehouse after 'accidentally' sleeping through her alarm clock, Olivia panically rushed off toward the lockers, failing to notice Buck sitting on the second-to-last step with a small frown on his face.

Slowly getting up from the stairs, Buck finally looked up to where Maddie was standing at the top of the stairs with her and Chimney's daugther Jee-Yun by her side.

"Talk to her, Buck. I think she really needs you right now," Maddie said.

Buck nodded as he happily waved at Jee-Yun. "Alright! Here goes nothing, Maddie. Take Jee and go hide with the others, but remember she has to uh silent. Ha, almost said the q-word,"

Maddie nodded.

After watching as Maddie happily took a laughing Jee-Yun away from the stairs, Buck let out a small nervous sigh before he walked over toward the lockers, only to find Olivia sitting on the benches with her head in her hands, sobbing.

Frowning sadly to himself, Buck slowly sat down next to Olivia on the bench before he wrapped an arm around the sobbing girl.

"I can't do anything right, Buck. I can't believe I slept through my alarm," Olivia said. Shaking her head sadly, Olivia looked over at Buck, tears still falling from her eyes. "I probably disappointed you and the others. Mainly Bobby,"

Buck shook his head, finally getting a glimpse of Bobby walking out of his office. "You didn't disappoint any of us, Liv. I can promise you that. You have been nailing all of the training,"

"But I was late for work, Buck. And today is only my second day," Olivia said. "I have never been late for anything because I was terrified of people being upset with me. Mainly because I was terrified of my parents finding out,"

"Everyone is late sometimes, Liv. It happens because we're only human. Plus, you're not really late,"

Olivia frowned. What the heck is Buck talking about right now? I saw the clocks, and my alarm clock didn't go off like it should have.

Placing a gentle kiss onto Olivia's forehead, Buck slowly got up from the bench in front of the lockers before he looked down at Olivia.

"Listen, I may have overheard you talk with Maddie last night, Liv. And before you get upset with me, I promise I didn't tell anyone," Buck said. Holding out his hand for Olivia to take, Buck gave her a warm and caring smile. "Maddie didn't know about it either. So after I asked Maddie if you were asleep since she stayed the night with you. Once she told me you were asleep, I asked her to change all of your clocks,"

Olivia frowned as she finally took hold of Buck's hand. "And why would you have her do that to me, Buck? I thought I was late to work,"

"Why don't I just show you why, Liv. I think you're going to love this surprise I planned for you,"

Olivia nodded. I was never given a surpise in my entire life. When dating Kirby, Valerie, and Alex, I always gave them gifts, but I always told them that they never had to get me anything.

Slowly walking behind Olivia, gesturing for Bobby to quickly hide in his office, Buck finally covered Olivia's eyes, causing their fire captain to quickly rush upstairs.

"Why are you covering up my eyes, Buck?" Olivia asked.

Buck laughed as he slowly and carefully began to lead Olivia toward the stairs. "Becuase it's called a surprise for a reason, Liv. P-Please tell me you have been surprised or gotten a surprise before, Liv?"

"Nope! My parents only celebrated their wedding anniversary or their birthdays. I get locked down in the basement so I don't ruin everything,"

Buck frowned sadly. Yep! I'm starting to get the feeling that Olivia's parents might get me sentenced to life in prison for murder.

Quickly shaking away his anger and sadness, not wanting to ruin his surprise for Olivia, Buck finally led the firefighter up the stairs leading to the upper level of the firehouse.

Once Olivia was standing in front of the dining table, Buck finally uncovered her eyes, causing Bobby and the others to jump out of their hiding spots, screaming "Surprise," which caused the latter to stumble a little in surprise.

"Whoa! Is this all for me? Ohh! I love the pink, purple, and blue banner with my name on it," Olivia said. Slowly turning around to face Buck, Olivia pointed at her friend in shock. "Wait?! Is this the surprise you were talking about, Buck? Also, the banner colors are because I'm Bi. Isn't it?"

Buck nodded. "It sure is, Liv. And you can think of the surpise as anything you want as well. A random party or your official welcome to the 118 firefam. Becuase either way, we all came together to celebrate you. And I had to put the banner like that, Liv, since I'm Bi as well,"

"What! Why?" Olivia asked. "I didn't do anything worth celebrating. A-And we all just met two days ago,"

"Actually, Liv, you did successfully do a turning kit yesterday. I think that's very worth celebrating. And honestly, we all think you dersve to have a party because you dersve to be happy and feel loved and accepted,"

Olivia nodded. I guess.

Grabbing Olivia's hand gently, Buck led the probationary firefighter towards where Maddie, Chimney, and Jee-Yun were waiting, causing Olivia to frown nervously.

Picking Jee-Yun up from the ground, Chimney gave Olivia a friendly and warm smile while Maddie happily hugged the broken teenager.

"Liv, I would like you to meet mine and Maddie's daugther Jee-Yun. She's named after my late mother," Chimney said. Watching as Olivia waved at Jee-Yun, Chimney looked at Jee with a bright smile. "Jee, this is Daddy's, Mommy's, and Uncle Bucks' new friend, Olivia Morris,"

Jee--Yun waved as she handed Olivia a flower she picked, causing the latter to take it. "Hi. You're pretty. My uncle Buck talks about you a lot,"

"Hi, Jee-Yun. Thank you, I think you're very adorable,"

Jee-Yun laughed.

Placing a kiss on Jee-Yun and Maddie's foreheads, Buck fist-bumped Chimney before he led Olivia toward where Chris and Eddie were waiting for them.

"Hey, Liv. I want you to meet the son of my best friend, aka Eddi,e if you were wondering," Buck said. Gently sitting Olivia down next to Chris, Buck placed his hands on Olivia's shoulders. "This is Christopher Diaz. He sadly lost his mom, but Eddie is doing all he can to be there for his pride and joy,"

Chris gave Olivia a warm smile while Eddie high-fived Olivia. "Hi, Liv. Are you and Buck dating? Why do you look so sad in the eyes?"

"Hey, Chris. You are very handsome, and so is your Dad. No, I am not dating Buck. He's cute but not my type (Buck: Hey!), and he's like an older brother to me. Plus, I'm in love with someone else. And, uh, long story,"

Chris nodded.

Giving Olivia a quick apologetic look for Chris's unexpected question, Eddie gently patted the firefighter on the shoulder, causing Olivia to stare at him in confusion.

After saying goodbye to both Chris and Eddie quickly, Buck began to lead Olivia toward where the Wilson family was sitting and chatting with a bright smile on his face.

And hopefully, throwing this party for Olivia will finally bring out some happiness that the broken teenager could use right now.

(Two Hours Later)

Jogging back upstairs after she quickly rushed to the station to grab something, Athena watched as Olivia placed one present in front of all of the kids (plus May) with a small, bright smile on her face.

After watching as Olivia let the kids (And May) up her gifts, Athena laughed as she walked over to where Maddie was laughing at how excited Jee-Yun got when she was handed a gift. Tapping Maddie on the shoulder, Athena finally handed the dispatcher the papers about Olivia with a small frown on her face.

"You might wanna read this, Maddie. I did what you asked me to do last night," Athena said. Once Maddie took the papers from her, Athena looked back over at Olivia sadly. "Honestly, I was already thinking of doing this after Bobby told me how she reacted yesterday. All I will say is that Poor baby,"

Maddie frowned as she finally began to read the paper Athena handed her. "At least Buck and I at least know that people really did at least try to fight to get Olivia away from her parents. But no matter what her grandparents or whoever these other parents are tried Rachel and Zander Morris always won the case and got to take Olivia home,"

"Her parents are very lucky that I'm not around them because I would have punched them for all of the pain they caused Olivia,"

Maddie nodded in agreement. These papers also stated that Olivia sadly lost both sets of grandparents unexpectedly. And how they left her all of their money just in case she wanted to leave when she was eighteen.

Leaning against the railing behind her, Athena watched as Olivia poured herself a glass of punch before she walked downstairs, causing the sergeant to frown sadly before she looked over at Bobby.

"I think you should have that talk with Olivia now, Bobby," Athena said. Crossing her arms over her chest, Athena watched as Bboy grabbed the gift he got for Olivia. "She's sitting on the firetruck. Right, Maddie?"

Maddie nodded as she finally looked up from the papers she was reading, trying not to cry. "She is. I watched her climb up from the corner of my eye. I honestly think she just needs a break from the party,"

"She did look like she wanted to leave an hour ago, but she doesn't want to hurt Buck's feelings. I honestly think that parties aren't Olivia's thing,"

Maddie and Athena nodded.

Placing a kiss on Athena's forehead, Bobby finally walked down the stairs before he walked over toward the firetruck Olivia was sitting on, causing the fire captain to climb onto the truck as well.

"You know, I may have only known you for a few days now, but you have made me proud with how fast you are catching on," Bobby said. Finally sitting down next to Olivia on the firetruck, Bobby watches as the firefighter plays around with a ring. "That's a nice ring you have there, Liv. Can I ask how you got it?"

Olivia frowned. "It was my grandma's on my mom's side wedding ring. Before she passed, she told me that she wanted me to give it to my special someone. That will never happen now,"

"Never say never, Liv. Maybe you will still be able to give your special someone that ring,"

Olivia frowned. Guess we'll just have to let fate tell me if I can give Kirby this ring someday in the future. Hopefully, I will get to give her this ring.

Watching as Olivia downed the rest of her punch, Bobby sadly frowned before he finally handed his present over to the firefighter, causing Olivia to frown in confusion.

After slowly taking the gift from Bobby with a confused look on her face, Olivia placed the empty glass beside her before she finally opened up the gift, only to find a book with "Olivia's Found Family" in the middle of it.

"Athena figured out what was going on with you the moment I told her you looked scared that I was upset with you," Bobby said. Opening up the book for Olivia, Bobby pointed at the first picture in it. "Buck asked someone to take a picture of all of us when we were shopping for your bed set. This will be the first of many pictures of us together. The 118 will be the family you dersve, Olivia. And we won't try to take the place of your friends,"

Olivia slowly began to tear up at the picture. "I-I'm sorry I didn't tell you, Bobby. I was planning on telling you and the rest of the 118 eventually,"

"You don't have to rush into telling the rest of the 118, Liv. You can tell them whenever you're ready, and not because you think it's the right thing to do. And when you are ready to tell them, Athena, Buck, Maddie, and I will be there to support you,"

Olivia nodded.

As he and Olivia contuined to chat on top of the firetruck, Bobby watched as Chimney came walking down with Jee-Yun sitting on his shoulders.

"Guys, Jee wants to know if we can cut the cake now," Chimney said.

Jumping down from the firetruck, Bobby helped Olivia get down before he happily took Jee from her father. "I think we can officially cut the cake, Jee. But how about we ask Olivia first?"

"I'm down to finally have some cake and maybe some more punch,"

With that said, Olivia gently pushed Chimney before she rushed upstairs, causing Bobby to laugh as he followed Olivia while leaving Chimney alone by the firetruck.

After happily cutting everyone a piece of cake and handing them off to her newfound family, Olivia was about to grab for her piece of cake when she was suddenly hit in the face with a piece of cake by the Buckley Siblings.

Olivia laughed.

"Alright! Evan (Buck: I'm in trouble) and Maddie Buckley, you better run now," Olivia said.

"We regret nothing," Maddie and Buck said.

With that said, both Maddie and Buck quickly ran away from Olivia, causing the probaranary firefighter to rush after them cake still on her face.

Watching as Olivia chases both Maddie and Buck around the firehouse, Bobby smiled and laughed happy to see his newest firefighter finally having some fun with her newfound family.

Bobby will make sure Olivia knows that the 118 isn't going anywhere anytime soon and that her newfound family will protect her whenever she needs protecting.
