“Messy little thing,” his voice came down and honeyed. Then, he swept his damped bangs aside, pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket, and tapped it gently on his forehead. He tilted his head, glancing at him. In a split second, Xia Fei was filled with a strange sensation, as if the redhead could see through his soul. He felt vulnerable, exposed. A hint of doubt flashed through the blond’s eyes, and he subconsciously uttered “Who are you?”
He carefully folded the piece of cloth and put it back in his coat pocket, his facial features softened, the smile still plastered to his lips. “I am who you want me to be,” he walked in circles around him, ogling him. “Your boss, your confidant, your friend…” he whispered in the shell of his ear “...your lover.” The sound like velvet laced with hunger gave him goosebumps.
Xia Fei’s world has turned upside down since Vein’s death. As much as he tries to keep it together, it’s hard when his mother is dealing with a terminal disease. One day, he receives the visit of a detective who challenges him to confront his past. What will Xia Fei do? Overcome his former boss’s demise or unravel the mystery that surrounds it?
