It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Tim was nervous.
Sure coming out to his family had gone well, and they all seemed to support his relationship with Bernard, but this would be his first time bringing him home. Bringing a boy home. Deep down he knew that as long as he was happy his family would be satisfied, but a part of him was still nervous. There were too many variables, too many potentials for the night to go wrong.
Okay, so maybe in his panic he had forgotten about one small detail.
AKA: The one where Bernard bonds with Tim's family by helping them perform an exorcism.

The obvious result of Tim’s paranoia and Bernard’s conspiracism is a series of code words. Fairly standard practice for anyone in the cape community and probably detectable by anyone tearing down the capes themselves.
What makes Tim and Bernard so special is that they have a veritable language of code phrases, made up of the reality TV shows hate watched by one Stephanie Brown.
Tim memorized it as fast as they spun titles into meanings and Bernard stayed up all night until he could spit out that RuPaul’s Drag Race meant going undercover soon and Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives meant low risk stake out scheduled.
Big Brother, Tim said. You’re being watched.

Percy sat up in his bed, his memories effectively pushing the sleep from his system. Batman had scooped him up and whispered promises of a better life, one with his friend Bruce Wayne. Percy could never recollect how he ended up in a plush bed inside Wayne Manor that same night, or how he ended up joining the coveted Wayne family. All he knew of was the gentle hands of their butler tending to his wounds and the warm smiles of Bruce Wayne and his other ward: Dick Grayson.
