My name is Wren Harris. I am thirty-seven years old. I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University, class of ‘99, and, at the time of writing this, I reside in the suburbs of Portland. I had a steady job, a family I loved dearly, and a life so predictable I believed it would last eternally. The past few months have passed in a blur, but looking back now, the events that led me here have become increasingly easy to pinpoint. And so I’ll begin there. “That’s a nice shade,” Tabitha notes absently, “Its very pretty.”
Anais eyebrows furrow ever so slightly in response, “Excuse me?” She replies, gaze fixed on the generator infront of her. “Your lipstick,” the other woman clarifies, “It’s a wonderful color on you.” The CEO blinks, briefly pausing in her movements. It sent butterflies to swarm in the CEO’s stomach, fluttering wings zapping her from the inside like lightning. “It’s like you’re amazing at everything, Ms.Desir.” The caretaker adds at the end.
