With his shikigami reappearing by his side, Megumi ventured up the stairs, the hair on his arms standing on end by the time he reached the second floor. The darkness surrounding him felt heavy, like a thick blanket. Whatever curse was hiding up there was much stronger than the ones in the living room.
Megumi needed to be careful. One wrong move and—
Without warning, something hard slammed into Megumi's side. sending him tumbling back down the stairs. Megumi quickly regained his footing, using his momentum to create some distance as the curse came barreling down the stairs after him. It reminded Megumi of a mangy coyote with snapping jaws and loose skin folds that hung like thick curtains. Moving fast, Megumi summoned a few of his rabbit shikigami, allowing them to take the brunt of the curse's attack.

My take on a time travel fix it where Clarke is done playing nice and will stop at nothing to bring their people peace, even if she has to drag them there kicking and screaming.
