Summary

He wasn’t sure if there was much left of him to remember anyway, but then like that, he was free. Slade was killed, and Dick was freed. Now Dick Grayson must learn how to live again and heal from the hell he had lived through. Becoming the hero, Nightwing to protect Bludhaven while slowly reuniting with his family. Will Dick heal from all the trauma he had lived through, or will the nightmares of his mind take him first?

It wasn’t stunned speechless, nor was it his brain catching up to what it heard. It felt more like a snapshot, a moment of stillness to make the rush after all the more disorienting.
Slade gestured with cuffed hands, palms facing upward. “It’s not about what I want,” he started, “it’s what you need. I know you have questions, and that I have the answers.” He laced his fingers together and placed his chin atop them. “But that’s… formulaic, too conventional. Why not make it interesting?”

There's unrest in the underground and Slade seems to be a part of the cause. He agrees to cooperate with the League on a condition: Only Nightwing can interrogate him.
For every question Nightwing asks, he has to answer a question from Slade as well. Confidential information was off the table, that was made clear. So what seems to be Slade's end goal here, if the deal just sounded too good to be true?

“You don’t want to know that, Star.”
“Can’t be much worse than, what?” Cyborg ticked off his fingers as he listed, “Mutant reptile attacks, impromptu surgery, impromptu surgery but way more symmetrical this time, murderous eco-warriors, and the Batman?”
“You’d be shocked.”
“Then tell us,” Raven said, pulling the thread just a little tighter than seemed strictly necessary, Dick winced. “You keep things from us all the time, and that can’t continue from now on. So start with something small now, that way the big things come easier.”
or, after the end of the apprentice arc, the Titans take the time to patch up Robin. While doing so, they notice the concerning amount of scars he has, and he gets the chance to trust his ragtag team. Some of them have better stories than others, and some stories have nothing to do with his injuries at all.

They become best brothers and live in (for them) relative peace until they stumble upon that pesky Batman who makes things complicated. But don't worry, they make it far more complicated for him...
If you're a fan of long stories that deal with redemption, trauma and found family, this might be for you. :)

Summary
It’d be easier, Dick thinks, if there was something obvious he could point to. A clear-cut example, where any outside observer would have to agree. Something that couldn’t be argued to just be a power play, or training, or part-and-parcel of being a hostage.
There isn’t. Maybe that’s the point.
Dick paid attention in Batman’s training, he knows what grooming is. He knows what sexual abuse is. But this? This is something he has no frame of reference for.
Or: an apprentice fic where Slade’s kinks are a little unusual, and Dick has trouble finding where the line is.
